Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
A couple of days ago, I encountered the neologism “Snaccident” . It’s what happens when you open the package of snacks and accidentally eat it all.
Oh, gawd, didja halfta mention oreos this early in the morning?!? What IS it about those damn things: they’re worse than potato chips for not being able to have just one. . .
Which half package we talking about? The 6 cookie pack or the tube? Just 3 would dull appetite but half a tube would destroy it for hours along with blood sugar levels. Earl apparently has no more self control than I do.
Today is just great again because the Precious Roscoe is in two for the frames again . The curious look in the first frame , but the look in the forth frame is just out of this world . His tongue out of his mouth tells me that he and Earl enjoyed the cookies together . Thanks to Brian for a great comic today .
I eat a very large breakfast and then might have a snack ( fruit ) around 3 pm. I have a light, balanced dinner around 7 pm. I might have a piece of chocolate/cacao about 11 pm.
That is more than sufficient for a man my age and weight.
Years ago, I heard a guest on a radio program talk about how some companies engineer foods so we want to eat more, regardless of how good or bad for our health the food is. Years before that, I read about research that said lab rats can find Oreos as addictive as a recreational drug.
I’ve eaten 1/2 a package or more of Oreos in one siting, when I intended to eat 3 or 4. For that reason, I don’t buy them anymore. I imagine I’m something like a recovering alcoholic, except my addiction is to Oreos and other cookies. When I’m in the grocery store, I try to avoid the cookies aisle.
Just do not let Roscoe have the crumbs. I wonder how many are like Earl? For me, I had to major reduce down on portion size for lunch time as a bite as peanut butter and cottage cheese, and turkey sandwich with lettuce. My dinner is size of a saucer plate. Working slow weight loss.

It’s also very easy to “nibble” down a whole “sleeve” of Ritz Crackers.

My sentiments exactly…

And here we see the perfect example of a pavlovian response. She said “Oreos” and the dog started salivating…

While a half-package of junk food disappears in Pickles, we have someone in Doonesbury using junk food for meals.

Not a good sign that Roscoe is licking his chops. I hope Earl didn’t give him Oreos; chocolate isn’t good for dogs.

Given his expression in the third panel I’d say Roscoe definitely loves Oreos.
