It’s that time of year again — time for Garfield’s Birthday Week!

I used to have a pretty good grip on my passwords. But my PC remembers them all for me. I’d be in trouble if I had to remember any of them.

There was a site we used to need at work with really strict password rules. 8 characters: no more, no less. Letters & numbers: no symbols. No double-letters or numbers (like 88 or ee). No proper names or your own birthday. AND we had to change it every 6 weeks, but couldn’t use a previous one, going back 13 changes. I was never so glad as to see the end of that site.

Garfield’s comment today, “Et tu password” reminded me of one from an earlier strip “Et tu cyberspace”.

I’m surprised that the password is only 7 characters. Doesn’t it have to be at least 8 characters and include an upper case letter, a lower case letter, a number, and a symbol?

I have my 211 passwords in a password protected Excel file… I only need to remember one password…

Remembering passwords has nothing to do with age. I started using PC’s nearly 30 years ago, and I couldn’t remember them even back then.

Went inside the grocery store for the first time in 16 months and utterly and totally forgot the pin for my debit card. sigh…

Checkmate Password.

Each website has a different requirement for passwords and requires new passwords at different times. I have to write mine down in addition to saving them in my browser. Some times I’ll need the password to manually enter and will have to look it up in Options to find out what it is.

If it’s Garfield’s password, it’s probably “lasagna”.

Yeah, that password definitely did not think about which website it was a password for, so Garfield wins this one. But on the subject of age nightmares that weren’t so scary, remember the one where Garfield’s age nightmare was the middle-aged gut, but Garfield one-upped it because he already has a gut?

I tend to use dates for passwords – I happen to be fairly good at remembering dates, especially my goats’ birthdays. And Garfield, never worry about your age, I am almost 10 years older and I have yet to start caring about mine.
