And maybe dab some paint on her cheek, to check the viscosity. Explain that paint cannot be judged on just one surface, and she must let it dry for an accurate assessment.
Never understood why mansplaining is a bad thing. My wife is always thankful she has someone to turn to when she wants a technical explanation. For instance, where we live the septic drain field is called a leach field. She was afraid that actual leeches where buried in the field to promote decay of the waste. When I explained it to her, I wasnât condescending. I just took the opportunity to give her additional knowledge. No different than a teacher does in school. Not âmansplainingâ; just passing on important information.
My wife and I explain only on request. Arloâs correct answer here is:âYes, (but itâs dry and too late to do anything about.)âNo. (It will be fine)âNo. (Iâll fix it with the 2nd coat)
If a man mansplains to another man rather than to a woman, is it still mansplaining?
Men believe themselves to be authorities on every subject, and will attempt to prove it to ANYONE. But when two men are trying to out-knowledge each other, it may still be patronizing and passive-aggressive but it is not sexist.
My wife on any given day: âWhatcha thinking about?â Me on the wrong day: âWhatcha thinking about?â My wife in response: âYou should know what Iâm thinking!â :P

People rarely like to be splained. In fact I can only think of one person who ever asked for a splaining.

You have the right to remain silent. Should you refuse that right, any thing you say can and will be held against you, in perpetuity.

âWomansplainingâ, though probably a thing, is too long a mouthful. What about âfemsplainingâ?
Also, that is not what Janis is doing. She is micro-managing: giving more instruction than needed or desired.

That wasnât womansplaining. No explaining going on here. It was a complaint or at best an uninformed butting in.

Soo all problems started when men started to explain things to women. If they did not they would still be barefoot in the kitchen ! ;)

Itâs not womansplaining, as much as nagging.
