Some methods to attach wood to wood without nails, screws or glue. One advantage: Wood joints without nails allow the wood to move with seasonal shrinkage and expansion. The movement of the wood in any project, as well as moisture air, can loosen any glued wood joint. But wood joints without nails are flexible against these problems.
Wood Corner Joints (including Half lap joint, Bevel lap joint, Dovetail joint, and Bridle joint).
Cross Joints and Halving Joints (including Halved crossing joint, Double notched joint, Crossed tenon joint, Dovetail lap joint. and T-Bridle Joint).
Framing Joint (Mortise and Tenon joint).
Dovetail Joints (see above) include Through Dovetail joint, Box joint, Half-blind Dovetail joint, and Sliding Dovetail).

Bracing it. Bringing it up to code for earthquake resistance. Now we need to bring it up to code for fire resistance (unzips fly…)

I guess I am too old to know what A—-* means. (I am guessing it is a funny joke tho)

“It’s finished. The ‘A’ is complete.” “You’re welcome.” “So what’s next?”

How do stone-age people have sawn lumber? Also, where did the nails and hammer come from?

That was a lambda frame.

In Canada it would be an “EH” frame.

If Fonzie had built it, it would be an “Aaay” frame!

I’m missing something here – 3 spaces denoting letters not printed. Can’t be the usual profanity which only has 3 letter total…anyone?

While it is a simple design, it is inherently unstable. A tripod based frame is the most stable form, but a lot harder to assemble.

Sorry, I am old school I guess, an asterisk means “see note”. There is no note to see and no obvious work around.
