somehow reminds me of a C&H strip where Calvin complained to his mother not ironing his socks nor underwear when she gave him fresh, clean laundry; he just jams it all into his dresser
My husband has 5 drawers for Tshirts and they’re all sorted by type. Several years ago, I said I couldn’t remember his system and so left them out for him to put away. That’s still our system although he probably doesn’t really know why.
I have two young children. I will bring it downstairs, put it in the washer, wash it, take it out of the washer and put it in the drier, dry it, take it out of the drier and may or may not bring it back upstairs for them.
They have one responsibility, maybe two…..bring it upstairs, and put it away. I don’t even care if it’s folded. That’s their issue. One folds it, one doesn’t. Been doing it that way for a couple years now.
Pretty soon the oldest will be completely responsible for doing everything. The younger one will be there in a couple years too. Part of growing up.
That period between leaving home and getting married will have you doing your own a lot of stuff, so you best learn how to clean house, prep food and wash your own “dirties”.
My mother didn’t like anyone else putting away the clean laundry, even though I would have been happy to do my own. What really would make me mad however was when she would get my clothes mixed up with my brother’s! We weren’t even close to the same age or size, but I thought that those and the style differences would be obvious.
Jason is right, you know. I never keep my Star Wars shirts with my Star Trek shirts! And don’t even get me started with the Doctor Who shirts!!! OCD scifi fans, unite!
I had a lab instructor who would “save me the trouble” and put all the museum specimens she’d used each semester away for me — many in the wrong places and wrong boxes. I had to go through the entire collection each time to make sure specimens were where they were supposed to be next time someone needed them!

I have an 80% rule. If the job is done 80% of the way I would have done it, it’s OK as long as the results are satisfactory.
My sister, on the other hand has a 100% rule. It has to be done 100% her way.
I find that there are few tasks that have to be done exactly “by the book.”

She should just hand him a bar of lye soap, a wash board and a wash tub.

Why don’t people like Jason? Nobody seems to realize that Jason is acting exactly how he’s meant to be characterized.
