I’m sad to hear that Peanutbutter’s comic strip was canceled, but since his game is already out, it’s possible that Honeymoon and her friends do play it. Anyway, I think that Honeymoon’s part in this story may already be over.

“Peanut Butter” is a pretty deep dive, into a relatively unexplored period of the strip.

I seem to remember “The Brain” being from about that same era. ✨

Let’s hope he gets to his point before Sunday’s strip!

Panel 3: Just the mention of Trustworthy sharpens that chin like nobody’s business!

Instead of the Magical Moving Ring today we get to see the Slip Sliding Coffee Cup Handle! which slid from the M yesterday to the U today!

The second panel of Peanutbutter, resembles how I remember him as a young boy.

I find the strip mildly entertaining. The constant harping of some commentators not much

Would a Dick Tracy video game be popular? What would y’all like to see in one? First-person shooter? Pretend to be Tracy and try to solve a crime? There are many possibilities. Or is Tracy just not popular enough?

Tracy has sure set his jaw in the last panel.

Tracy’s 90 years old, and his age is showing in that last panel.

I really like this guy more and more.

Hopefully “Sawdust” is gone too… I wondered if PB was working on a “Trustworthy” game, which is how he had access to the artist’s studio.

Also, all this comic strip stuff—Where’s Sam? He’s the MCU expert.

If peanutbutter is still appearing for the sunday addition, i wonder what color his classes and shirt will be and if they’ll have matching colors. Maybe we could start a pool.

Just as I figured after yesterday’s strip saying he was working on various jobs – his strip was no longer being published.

“Artists has gone missing! Endtown only updates at random, and nobody has seen Sarah Andersen in months! We need your help before all of Gocomics’ artists disappear!”

Wouldn’t it be a kick if Peanutbutter joined the police force as a sketch artist?

Wow, what a fantastic way to tell comic story with nonchalant comments all the way around. Nonsense!

First – I do realize that today’s strip is depicting a spoken conversation, not a written document. And it certainly is true that this kind of thing happens in conversations all the time.

BUT -

PB’s response to Tracy’s “Who doesn’t?” is a double negative. He says “Not enough.” As in, not enough people don’t read the comics. Which isn’t what he means, of course. He’s trying to say that not enough people do read them, which is why his strip was cancelled. When Tracy asked “Who doesn’t?”, PB should have said “Too many people don’t” That’s what he really means.

I only bring this up because I stumbled over this when reading today’s strip the first time. I had to go back and read it again, to decipher the writer’s true intention. Grammar does matter. Unless we make the argument that Mike deliberately wrote this dialog to show us a character quirk of PB’s, and I think that is a stretch.

Peanutbutter calls them the comics, while The Daily calls then the funnies. Let the debate begin. While I detect a strong possibility that Peanutbutter cuts his own hair, the pivot to J. Straightedge Trustworthy indicates that he will next share his concern regarding Vera’s “hiatus.” Tracy should instinctively know that Mysta would never marry Alldud, so the game is afoot. I sense a touch of rehabilitation for the once annoying Peanutbutter as he emerges from mothballs. Nicely played.

On the whole, I find today’s Comments entirely too serious.

What is Homer saying? If Vera was on top of his game as a artist, he would have drawn enough strips in advance prior to the wedding.

In the Sunday strip I thought the grown-up Peanutbutter resembled Jim Carrey:

Today he reminds me of an adult Bill Mumy (Lost in Space) with brown instead of red hair.

Very interesting….Bugs and Worms is a game…even if it bombed as a comic strip. Homer is still getting paid.

This Alt Take tries to capture the excitement of the actual story to this point. I can only hope it does it justice…

1-HOMELY: Soooooo…I see there’s nothing going on in Tracyville that requires your attention… DT: Nope. Like the rest of the country, crime is almost nonexistent these days.

2-HOMELY: POOF! I made the coffee cup disappear! I been doin’ magic tricks at kids’ parties to make ends meet. DT: I wish you’d disappear…

3-HOMELY: Hey Tracy, you ever notice how the newspaper devotes an entire “colored”* page to this one comic? DT: No.

HOMELY: Don’t you find that suspicious? DT: No.

HOMELY: Let me take a few days to explain to you why you should be interested. DT: I’m all chin…I mean ears…

Peanutbutter’s glasses have no bridge over his nose in Panel 2. It is like he is wearing two flat-top monocles.

Is “Bugs and Worms” a real webcomic?

J Straightedge Trustworthy bears a remarkable resemblance to another comic spoof of Dick Tracy: Tricky Prickears from the fabulous Furry Freak Brothers. Minus the sunglasses and white cane, of course.

It’s Peanut Butter’s hard luck he choose a profession that is becoming obsolete in the 21st century, t’s hard to be a newspaper cartoonist when print newspapers are, unfortunately, becoming extinct.

“I am aware of it.” Gee, Tracy, could you be more oblique about how much you detest Alldid and hate his strip that satirizes you?
