Just get it to go!

No argument there. (I’d go for a key lime pie à la mode.)

I’ve told the waiter that I want to box the desert. They usuallly are fine with that. Though you don’t want to box up the pie a la mode..

Us old folks will take anything that’s free, even if we don’t like it.

They could take something home for Nelson.

My wife insists that she’s never too full; there’s a separate compartment for dessert.

In this case my mother would have asked for a doggie bag.

That’s why you should always eat dessert first.

Do they still say there’s always room for Jell-O?

Been there … done that!

“If it’s free, it’s for me”!

At some restaurants, we pretty much plan to take at least part of the meal home, even before the food comes.

That’s situation calls for “To Go” … which is my favorite way to enjoy dessert: at home in comfy clothes. :)

“If it’s free, I’ll take three”.

Both sound good, but I think I would take the brownie…

I don’t blame them. Desserts are the wine of family restaurants; outrageously overpriced.

Many fine dining restaurants have a prix fixe menu where the one set price includes everything from appetizer to dessert. The one good thing about that is you know going in what it’s going to cost. No shocks or surprises until you pay for your drinks!

Earl and Opal certainly aren’t worried about their weight problem.

I’d ask for the dessert “To go” and have later at home.

Why? My neighbors go get free covid food that is meant for the needy!! They own 2 homes/ paid for and 4 cars/ paid for!

I never have a desire for desert after a meal. Maybe after a joint, but not with dinner.

Looks like my parents are at it AGAIN..!!!!

I acquiesced to Costco’s ‘free’ blue blocker for my new glasses. Huge mistake, the lenses are yellow in color and impart a yellow cast to everything. Ugh.

This is the part of he meal my wife loves, the dessert order. free or not.

Glad to see all the suggestions that they get the dessert to go. Restaurants portions are so large, that my wife and I often take food home, especially if we’ve decided to indulge ourselves with soup or other appetizers. We know we might be ordering more than we’re likely to eat at the one meal, but of course that means we get to enjoy some of the meal over again at home. I’ve never understood people who leave food over and turn their noses up at “leftovers.”

As my mother taught me, “It’s a sin to waste food.”

I would get it to go and take it home.
