I think ostriches can outrun horses. I’m not sure how comfortable the run would be for a rider.

I have a photo of my father taken c. 1915 on the back of an ostrich in a touristy type small scale amusement park. Not sure if the photographer was just posing people for photos, or if they actually rode the ostrich. Also not sure if the ostrich was alive or stuffed.

I rode on an elephant once. The motion is very weird; not just front / back motion like on a horse, but also side to side motion. It is not relaxing.
