Much to my annoyance, I spent a lot of my time in those sort of meetings. They always seemed to end by forming a committee to discuss the subject further. Hey, why make a decision when you can delay it to the point the problem has been resolved by itself or someone else :)

Had many meetings like that when I worked for Boeing!

Not only were they mind numbing but put me behind schedule on my projects!!

I worked for a business that had a meeting mindset, at the first one I pointed out my shop was closed for half a day because of his meeting. Thereafter I ran my branch almost as a separate business with regular phone contact with the sales manager, before opening.

Even working for a grocery store, we have meetings

A little over a year ago I went back to working nights, meetings are just one of the reasons I’m glad to be away from working days

It all depended on who was in the meeting. I found myself being very careful with my invite lists.

Meetings waste time, plus you get saddled with Action Items, making them doubly bad.

In the first lecture of Geography 101, the prof said, “Geographers spend a lot of time in meetings.” I switched courses immediately, and never regretted it – geologists don’t sit in meetings.
