60 minutes times 7 or 8 depending on the school and then you have the off hours when they have to grade tests teachers deserve way better then how they are treated.
Tell the teachers since the ‘h’ is silent you can shorten it down to ours in the negotiations and, legally in the taped recording, nobody would know the difference.
None of my teacher friends work the hours the contract says. They have more homework than the kids do. It’s about “not having”: They would appreciate not having to spend their own money for supplies, not having to talk to idiot parents who want to know what’s wrong with her, giving poor Johnny an F, not having to slow her class because some privileged idiot parents don’t think it’s important for their kids to do the work….
huh, a smaller sixty minutes… well, I doubt shrinking the numbers are gonna do much cause an hour is an hour no matter how big or small it is. unless they want it hard to see the numbers…
The average employee actually works for about one hour a day. Not any specific job, but the study, and I can’t cite it because it was years ago, covered many jobs. I doubt that hour included work-related things like going to get supplies, or maybe using a printer. I don’t remember.
I actually campaigned for longer days… I wanted them to go to 4-10hour days per week with a 3 day weekend. (Sat. Sun. Mon.) everyone knows Mondays are worthless. ;-)
Smoke smoke smoke dem cigarettes … coffee breaks – oops bathroom again… shoot the breeze 10 mins each hour, surf the net – sports, check cell phone each 15 minutes… 4 or 5 BS calls each morn and afternoon. Lunch hour. work 8 – 5. Net work time 3 hrs 45 mins. 18.45 hours work week for 40 hour pay? 4,000 week = 210 dollars an hour for actual work time. You deserve a raise. You worked hard.

And months with less days. And years with less months. No, they already have this.

With kids like you, I’m sure they’d like 5-minute hours.

You mean I worked my entire adult life with hours that were 60 minutes long? What a ripoff!

Maybe the high school teacher should teach elementary school. Then, at least, they’d have shorter students.

I work with some people who put in about 40 minutes per given hour, but still expect 60 minutes per hour of pay.

Smaller class size or higher pay would be a more likely demand made by teachers.

Obviously there is more work to be done with some of the students.

I see logic from the boy on this one based on what dad said. There is hope for him after all in the long run!

That would require finding a habitable planet with shorter days.

Teachers couldn’t do their jobs if they worked fewer hours. What they really should be demanding is getting paid for all the hours they work.
