    Double-edged sword pretty much.

Actually, this plugger walks for exercise on Dr.’s advice. He says jogging and running are tough on joints (ankles, knees, hips) but walking … mmmm not so. Walking lost me an unneccesary 40 pounds and an apparent blood clot in my calf. By the bye, that calf is NOT a bovine.

The rainy season is in full swing, so it’s time to fire up the treadmill.

A Plugger will take a walk for their exercise and have natures beauty also de-stress the body.

Urban myth. Knees benefit from use. Abuse, carrying too much weight, is bad for them.

I’ll betcha dollars to donuts that nothing actually doubles here. Face it. Your clothes rack no longer doubles as your treadmill.

My problem is walking a few miles makes my feet hurt no matter what the shoes. Very disappointing.

An elliptical walker is easier on the knees, but swimming/water exercise works even better.

Try non-impact aerobics like swimming and bicycle riding.

Walking hurts my knees but not as much as a change in the weather does.

Why I took up water aerobics using resistance bells and boots.

Knees are tricky things. I have a bone-on-bone right knee. I lived in an apartment that was very disabled-friendly so that I would not fall down and break more bones, as I had broken 5 in my back. There were 2 small steps to the back yard, and I was careful when going down them. One day I was sweeping a bit of planting dirt off the steps, when I found myself prone on the sidewalk with a bumped head and a bleeding arm! My right knee had decided it was off for the day, without informing me. I told the doctor that I was never going to sweep again, lol.

In normal times we walk a lot – only have done so a handful of days since pandemic started as don’t want to be around people. We do live in a 2 story house with basement – whatever is needed when upstairs is in basement and vice versa – a lot of up and down stepping – and I make at least 8 round trips a day.

Also have a stationary bike in the basement.
