And this is why there are football teams named Tigers, Bears, etc, but there is not a single team named the Calvins.

Somebody need to explain to Calvin that once you have your arms tight around their ankles BOTH ankles, forward progress becomes much more problematic.

Oh oh! I know. Let’s play “Grab the Tiger”.

Has anyone else noticed that Hobbes can shorten ang lengthen his hind legs at wìll?

Tickle Hobbes under the arm. Maybe he’ll drop the ball.

It does not surprise me that you can score a touchdown in Calvinball. Now Hobbs gets to use Susie’s lacrosse stick to attempt the point after.

Sooo, actually, it looks to me like Calvin tackled a Ref.

Hobbes should play for the Washington Football Team. They could use a player like him if he was real of course.

I would like to see Susie watching Calvin do this with his stuffed tiger!

Brings back fond memories of playing football with my big brother. I could be wrapped around his leg and he would be dragging me down the field. :)

Hobbes is taller in Calvin’s imagination than actual stuffed Tiger.

Hobbes always wins.

Hobbes got a little Gronkowski in him.

And so “Calvinball” was born…

Calvin is no match to Hobbe’s agility.

Reminds me of when I played against my older cousin. He would walk in slow motion, because I was that wimpy.

I wonder how that would look to other people seeing Calvin trying to prevent a stuffed tiger from getting a touchdown. And Calvinball must truly be a wonder to watch!

The amazing sight is watching a real pro player dragging two or more players for several yards.

Shortly after that, the kid invented “Calvin Ball”
