Why not a different string instrument? Perhaps she will make a great aprista.

Listen to the pot talking to the kettle! She’s just indecisive about an instrument as he’s indecisive about what to do with that Impala!

She’s on the right track — try lots of instruments in order to find the one that works for you! I tried flute for years before picking up bassoon and realizing that fit me so much better.

As a tuba player myself, I endorse her decision! Though, there’s no reason she can’t continue with guitar as well. If you enjoy it, you’ll get better.

Gracie would disappear into the tuba.

In the mid-1960s, I was in 4th grade at a new school and living in very homey BOARDING HOUSE 3-room in Whitehall, NY for one school year while my mom taught at the high school for teaching credit. Being the new kid, the music class gave me the only remaining instrument, a Sousaphone (a tuba reshaped for a walking player), to practice at home. :~) ..which got returned in a couple of weeks. I would love to see Gracie succeed in her home.

Any instrument requires time. Lots of time. Gracie should know that.

With a guitar, she can accompany herself in a song. A tuba, not so much. Plus, a tuba generally doesn‘t make sense without a band or an orchestra. Is that what she wants to do?

Nothing wrong with being in an orchestra. Disclaimer: Classical music lover here. It‘s just that playing in a tuba would require an orchestra in order for her to play.

Really old joke: Someone asks a tuba player what he plays. All he knows is oompah oompah oompah…

One day, he sits in the audience and realizes that while he was playing oompah oompah, the rest of the orchestra was playing March of the Torreadors!

Maybe she should learn to play the dog whistle. It would be fun, no problem with hitting the wrong note, and it would drive all the dog owners in the neighborhood nuts!

The world of Music would be much poorer if Jimmie Hendrix had Baldo for a big brother.
