Gee, Lisa, no one is saying "silence the parents, they are saying that it is illegal for parents to physically threaten a schoolboard for teaching actual science and not teaching religion in public schools

The US does have = “suffers from” systemic racism. Wishing it weren’t so is every bit as effective as stuffing your head under the covers or stamping your feet while yelling “No No No!”. As for silencing the parents, well, I could be living in a news bubble… but I think I’m seeing what really happens. And what I’m seeing is that parents are being treated no less calmly and rationally as they are treating the school boards and teachers. Which does vary from the good through what I thought was “normal” all the way to parents making threats of violence to the children of the folks who are working to provide education. THOSE parents deserve to be not just silenced, but talked to by a judge. At least. As for “defund the police”, yeah: that’s got to be one of the worse slogans ever. Even when it’s a truism (just ask them themselves) that the police are NOT equipped to handle mental crises… and if you want non-cops doing some of that work, you have to fund them SOMEhow.

Of course, this is all just (whistling) into the wind because “Lisa Benson”. But sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Seems to me the Democrats, especially progressives had a really good day. All this focus on Virginia is ridiculous. They did what they normally do, vote against the party of the president for Governor.

Interestingly, New Jersey usually does the same thing, only they didn’t. They bucked the trend and kept the Democratic Governor. That is huge news!

A small minority of Democrats support the defund idea and none the notion that parents should be silent about their kids. As for America being racist, study history.

But if the Right characterizes Democrats this way, then surely it can accept the mantles of authoritarianism, Christian nationalism, and white power. Oh look—they fit.

US history (no surprise) is complex. Part of the story—a part that should not be covered up—is racism, in a number of forms. Students should be taught about slavery and segregation. They should be taught about the Trail of Tears. And so on. But there are inspiring parts of US history as well. Students should also be taught about the Civil Rights Movement, which was a glorious chapter in US history. There are lots of glorious chapters. The struggle for women’s rights is another example. The US has never been perfect, it’s not perfect now, but in some ways it has improved, and that’s an essential part of the story, too.

You might be surprised, Lisa, that Progressive Democrats had their share of victories last Tuesday. Michelle Wu (a former student of Elizabeth Warren) was elected Mayor of Boston. She will be both the first female and the first person of color to be mayor of Beantown. Aftab Pureval, another Progressive Democrat, was elected mayor of Cincinnati (a heavily Republican city with a long history of racial strife) and will be the first Pacific Islander American to be mayor of that city. And Ed Gainey won the mayorial election in Pittsburgh, PA. The city’s first African American mayor ever. Also while the Dems lost the Virginia Governorship to a Republican, they managed to hold on to the Governorship in New Jersey. During the first terms of Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2 and Obama (plus Trump’s term) their respective parties lost both the Governorships of VA and NJ. (i.e. Both Bushes and Trump saw Democrats elected Governors and both Clinton and Obama saw Republicans elected Governors). Did we get everything we wanted? No! But I hope that the Dems will regroup, and work together to get stuff done between now and next year’s midterms. They are less than a year away, and in the world of politics one year is an eternity.

White backlash. That’s all it is. Some white parents are mad, so that gets turned into some sort of movement by people like Benson. But it isn’t true. Most Americans recognize the need to combat racism in our society and support it.

Durham’s investigation, which was first assigned in April 2019, will show that it all leads back to the Democrats, Hillary and the dirty lawyers. Nothing to see here, instead, let’s focus on patriots who did less than uncharged BLM & Antifa peaceful protesters, call them insurrectionists, compare it to 9/11; turning the FBI investigations onto parents who are against school tyranny; labeling everyone against the left’s agenda as racists, including black republican men and women; championing voter ID as suppression; entertaining endless identities to the LGBTQ community to include every attention seeking snowflake; supporting endless illegal immigration because that’s the “right thing to do” even though violence, child and drug trafficking goes hand in hand with illegal immigration thus supporting the psychopath cartels; spending the taxpayers into economic ruin to keep the social justice warriors happy and lie about it costing zero, blaming Trump for every Dim failure; etc.. The Hypocrat party is imploding.

FACTS, based on CDC:Here are the VAERS numbers: Over 17,000 Americans are reported dead from this vaccine — mostly from strokes, heart attacks and blood clots. Over 800,000 are reported injured, many of them hospitalized (over 83,000), many with life-threatening illness (over 18,000) and many others permanently disabled (over 26,000).This information is all publicly available and provided by the CDC. This cannot be called “misleading” by anyone in the media. The very definition of “misleading” would be to either disparage or ignore VAERS and not report on it daily to your readers. The number of deaths and significant injuries reported to VAERS is now dramatically higher than in the past 30-plus years combined. This has happened in only 10 months. That’s a fact. Facts cannot be “misleading.” – Wayne Root, Townhall
