Now imagine the cat groaning.

Maybe Earl learned it from Roscoe.

Both getting up there in years!

The groans are simply an acknowledgment of the signals sent to the brain from the creaking bits. When one is my age, [I marked my 86th yesterday] they also become just another permanent adjustment in one’s life style.

Earl try not to groan next time ! …. Pass gas in Opal’s direction instead ;-)

Old dogs – old tricks.

Yep, as my retrievers hit about 10 years old, to lie down, they just splay their front legs out and smack down. Oof!

That’s why it’s called groaning old.

Hey sometimes it is proactive and sometimes it hurts.

Dogs do what their owners do..if you sleep they sleep, if you creak they creak! Lol

Ahh, the perils of getting older.

Yeah, growing old ain’t for wienies.

Is Opal EVER going to be nice to Earl. She is always sarcastic. Not like SHE is perfect.

In her later years, my mom would utter a small ladylike “Mm!” when hoisting herself out of a deep chair—but that was it. Girls used to be taught that it was improper for a lady to make noises, bodily or otherwise. How they held it in after a bowl of Boston baked beans or sauerkraut is one of the great mysteries. We men have no such compunctions: we joyfully let ’em rip, from either end, as loud as possible. Which is why women respect us so much.

Just once I’d like to see Brian Crane draw a strip in which Earl insults Opal really good, AND she does not respond with violence.

Poor Rosco still thinks he has his cajones. Damned, phantom pain.

My body snaps, crackles and pops the older I get. I also swear that the floor is getting further and further away any time I try to pick up something I might have dropped. :-)
