My neck hurts because it’s been holding up my big ole head. I don’t think this woman’s a doctor.

I am not a doctor, but I think there’s enough evidence to see what’s wrong, John. There’s a ninja hiding in the house and he’s throwing those (what are they called?) ninja stars at your back.

I feel for him. I was just diagnosed with a wedge fracture in my lower back :( Seeing our GP Monday to discuss what treatment we’re going to undertake

Apparently, dentists in Canada do not make what mine charges.

Too much time sitting will do that to you.

All that bill paying, and check mailing was always a pain, but I thought it was a bit lower.

One would think that as a dentist almost continually standing that john would be among the last to get back pain. My Dad (a pharmacist, pretty much in the same situation) never did. Nastier stuff got him.

I pulled a muscle in my back once just reaching into an upper kitchen cabinet. It took me to my knees. Argh!!!

I’ve sprained my back before. Sitting really can make it flare back up again, especially if you don’t have a good lumbar support and even more so if your posture is poor – as it tends to be if you’re hunched over a table writing checks and things.

That back needs a break after supporting the family, alright. Especially after the Christmas and new year bills to pay.

Like leg cramps, back muscles will cramp with no obvious reason at all – and when one cramps the others will usually demonstrate solidarity. Most of the pain we feel from back injuries is muscle or nerve pain. The sciatic nerve gets most of the glory in that.

That’s the problem. He’s been SITTING there the entire time. He should take regular breaks to move around. And, believe me, that can be a REAL pain, but it’s worth it.

It’s not that hard to do it, Ellie. I once hurt my back picking up a cat – I bent over at a bad angle and he was heavy. Two weeks later I hurt it again – by sneezing.

After I had back surgery, I went to my regular chiropractor and came home crying. My back surgeon had told me if I wanted to go, he wasn’t going to tell me not to go. I never went back. I have degenerate disc disease.
