That’s good. Temptation is a problem common to everyone. Hopefully he/they recognize it as a “weakness” that needs to be worked on (dealt with) everyday. The Lord’s Prayer addresses this with “Lead us NOT into temptation.” The Prayer also deals what their “short cuts” may lead to with “… but deliver us from evil.”
There was some comedy movie, many years ago, about a monk who apparently was either kleptomaniac or simply a crook. I didn’t get around to watching it, and don’t recall the title or star. The summary in the (print) ad stuck in my mind, though: “This is Brother __. Lead him not into temptation, for he’s sure to follow.”
Speaking of whether or not God leads us into temptation, consider what God did here with Jesus: Matthew 4:1 “Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.”

Was it Oscar Wilde who said,“I can resist anything except temptation”?

They don’t need to be led. They do the leading.

Most of us also know sadly, but that knowledge should actually help us avoid temptation…..

I have long thought that this phrase in the prayer needs revision.

I am reminded of the phrase, “Wholesale sinning.” And to think, all my life I’ve paid list price.
