Generally Vacant (the cartoonist) neglects the fact that the touted inflation crisis is a global phenomenon. It’s causes are not rooted in a single political party. Nice if GV would do something other than watch Faux Spews.

And yet, people are buying like crazy.

And that is not the worst of it. With high demand for goods, low supply and the possibility of future lockdowns because of new virus variants then we should expect to hear the word “Stagflation”. Hopefully stagflation doesn’t turn to hyperinflation because we will be in real trouble if that happens.

Are you promoting the idea that government takes over the means of production? Because only in China & Russia is that happening now

Democrats run the WHOLE WORLD!! I did not know that. Of course, I still know more about the economy than Mr. Varvel it seems.

People are buying more. Projects are being started/built all around the country. When demand exceeds the available supply, the price of goods goes up – Econ 101. That leads to the inflation numbers going up.

I Rep industrial plumbing, large-diameter PVC, and Cast Iron pipe. The orders are far exceeding supply across the board, and the manufacturers can’t keep up. Therefore, the cost of the pipe has risen several times this year. Before severe arthritis crippled me, I ran a contracting firm. I still know people in the business, and they can’t hire enough people and can’t buy enough supplies. It’s build – build – build right now.

Bottom line, there is inflation, but it’s inflation because of the lowest unemployment in years and an economy on the move. Republicans and their ministers of propaganda on Faux will, of course, blame Democrats. It’s all they have since they don’t have any answers themselves. I believe a majority of people will understand this if you explain it to them.

P.S. Manchin said he would not vote for the Bill because he couldn’t explain it to his constituents. I wonder if he can explain his huge houses, house-boat, and all his coal company stocks to his constituents more easily?

We had virtually no inflation in 2020 during the worst of the pandemic, and now with vaccines, and a supposed return to normality and Joe Biden policies we have over 7% inflation (actually closer to 30% in real buying power)… and what is really laughable (if it were not so beyond foolish), blaming Senator Manchin for refusing to make things worse. Of course we also need to blame Floridians and Texans, the former president and the “unvaccinated”…. Ho Ho Ho …..

Sheer nonsense. Inflation is worldwide and not being caused by any spending being done by Democrats. It’s just an excuse to keep government from actually serving the people.

The current inflation is world-wide, not just in the U.S.A. It began last February when the Saudis announced they were raising oil prices to make up for their 40% loss in profit due to COVID-19 in 2020. Other businesses and industries followed suit, many seizing on the opportunity to gouge the public.

Had tRump not failed to act when he was first briefed about the virus in November of 2019 we might not have the inflation, the 4th and 5th wave of virus, tRump’s recession, and he might have been re-elected.

ya right…not cause the worst possible president and republican liars who cared more about politics than facts to stop covid told lie after lie to make sure they would profit politically and keep their followers afraid to get the only real thing to stop the pandemic…. a simple vaccine….and now all of the supply chain..lack of workers..and inflation are really due to prez grabbem by the pu$$y and his minions spewing those lies… poor gary…‘ye should go forth and inseminate thyself….’’ if you can crawl out of ex-prez sleeping-with-a-porn-star-while-your-wife-is-pregnant derriere long enough to drink more of the koolaid…

Leave it to Mr. Varvel to imagine that the Democrats chose to inflict inflation on the economy, while ignoring factual Republican voting to increase suffering (against child tax credit, against covid testing and vaccines, for letting the government go into default, the list goes on and on.)

Another example of how partisanship tiptoes around responsibility.

If Democrats are to sole reason for inflation, why are Republicans so powerless and feeble to counter them? Republicans only lack one vote in the Senate to control what they want (and it appears that they enjoy two crossover votes), and the current administration is down in the popularity polls, so why aren’t the Republicans showing us that they are right by actually doing something other than obstruction for obstruction’s sake?

By displaying his willful stupidity, Varvel continues to crank out misleading and irresponsible cartoons…

All of America’s woes are not Democrat’s fault. Just most of them.

I find it quite amusing that anybody would be ignorant enough to think that there wouldn’t be inflation if the Republicans were in charge right now. Inflation is happening across the world. The economy is global now… If Inflation is happening, there isn’t much Joe can do to stop it. That being said there are things he could do to mitigate the issue and help protect Americans from the consequences.
