The reveal of the first name of Tess’s mother! I think that “Lilly” is a good choice for a name.
So, I wonder how it got to that other storage facility. Well, at least the collection is found. Maybe the storage company just moved it to a different facility?
I wonder what Joe is making. It looks like little round things in a frying pan and he’s sprinkling something on it. I can’t identify it.
Blackjack looks like a teenaged Willem Defoe in that photo! Wow, in fact, if they ever make another live-action Tracy film, Defoe would be perfect for BJ!
So…when Tess says “We” does she mean her mom too? Hahaha, it would be hilarious if Tracy’s mother-in-law came over to visit. Maybe she could help him catch Ace!
Despite Tracy’s Extra w—i—d—e chin in yesterday’s; today’s profile shot is fab. Nice to see a little home life now and then. What manager is Dick referring to, unless he means the storage facility manager ?
I’ve updated the Mrs. Trueheart page in the Dick Tracy wiki. You can see it here:
https://dicktracy.fandom.com/wiki/Mrs._Trueheart
For now, just the Notes and the opening line. Probably since the day this page was created, the opening line was “Mrs. Trueheart (first name unrevealed)”. That opening line is slightly different now. ;)
How can something this trivial get me feeling so giddy and excited?
Tess’ first sentence and first word balloon are confusing. Tracy asks how Lilly is doing, and Tess’ reply is “It was in another storage facility…”. It sounds like she’s kept Lilly at a storage facility. No wonder Lilly likes her new place! :) Separate ideas in separate balloons!
Lotsa revelations this week: Confirmation that Tracy was indeed on the vest-dressed list, BJ’s collection found, Bones possibly the thief after all…. and Mrs. T gets first-named after 90 years (What a shame Emil isn’t here to see it)!
Whether or not Blackjack survived might be a story for another day. But otherwise, it looks like a good denoument with all the loose ends being addressed.
Great profile of Tracy!Lilly Truehart! It’s interesting how the conversation goes back and forth between the two panels:.Tracy: “You Found Blackjack’s collection?”Tess: “It was in another storage facility less than 10 miles away all this time.”Tracy: “I’m sending you photos of Bonhomme and Blackjack to show the manager. How is Lilly doing?”Tess: “Mom’s good! She likes her new place. We’ll see you tomorrow night, dear.”.Why not tonight? What does Tracy have planned for tonight?
IDW and Stephen Mooney are planning a new Rocketeer 40th Anniversary graphic novel, to celebrate creator D. Stevens’ great retro superhero. I hope IDW and TCA can compose more Dick Tracy graphic novels in the future, as well.
1-DT: Two dead guys but I actually only killed one of ‘em. Should I give myself credit for both? It would put me back on top of the Office Bad Guy Kill Pool again…hmmm. CLICK There – submitted! I’M BACK ON TOP BABY!
2-TESSLA: Yeah, two large pizzas. Make one of ‘em “gummable” – Ma lost her teeth again. What? I don’t know – soak it in water or something and don’t put anything chewier than a mushroom on it! And make it snappy! The brat’s about to serve up something from a Depression Era recipe he made with Ma’s thirty year old ingredients. I think it has sawdust in it. HURRY!
For those inquiring minds, this Tracy continuity expert can’t remember Mrs.Trueheart ever being called by her first name.It was always “Mother”.So they’re on the money here. Now,where’s Heinie Steuben?
If you can bring Broadway Bates back then how about giving “The Old Dutchman” a break?
Until Black Jack reappears, who will be paying rent on the storage unit that has his collection? If after so long he is a no show, they (storage company) can sell the contents. I have seen and heard stories of something like the aforementioned taking place.
Its obvious Tess didn’t find her mother in a storage facility. Rather, how could she know where to look for BJ collection? Joe is sprayng paprika on scrambled eggs, probably.
unless they kept GRANDMA in a cryogenic storage facility and thawed her for the occasion. No wonder she likes her new place better than a cryogenic pod!
Tess is looking good today, fresh and relaxed over at at Mother Lilly Trueheart’s new place, with son Joe along, cooking for Granny.
Tracy is checking in by phone from the MCU office and congratulating Tess on finding the lost Blackjack Collection of Tracy Memorabilia; her detective agency has not been just sitting around! Tess will stay another night with Mother and then come home to Dick tomorrow.
Most of the main dangling ends of the arc have been gathered up this week, and with two more days to go (Friday, Saturday), I think we can put this plot to bed and start something new on Sunday (of course, I could be wrong, but I don’t think so, as TV Detective Adrian Monk would say)….

I think Blackjack will be discovered alive, and they’ll give him his collection back.

Blackjack probably survived. In Tracyville, a missing body is oftentimes one that is living…Abner Kadaver, anyone?

Another idea on where Blackjack is.
The Archival mansion is sitting there empty. So Blackjack is there, loading all his collections into huge tractor-trailer trucks to recoup his losses.
What’s Archival gonna do,call the cops?
