Dad would get mad at us teenage girls, stretched that bad boy to @ 18 feet and had to wrap it up over the phone (hung on the wall) so we wouldn’t trip on the rest laying on the floor.
When I finished our basement, I put in a phone line for a wall jack. But with the proliferation of Robo Calls and the domination of Cell Phones, it probably will never be used.

Most of my “home” phones are cordless, but the one on the desk still is corded. It just isn’t very long.
