Wait a minute, how much are the owners of the Buffalo Bills worth? Why can’t they finance their own stadium? I can see giving tax breaks. After years of frustration with the city of Miami dragging their feet in renovating the Orange Bowl owner/founder Joe Robbie put almost every personal assets on the line to build his own stadium.
An NFL team in Austin? Cool. As a student at UT in the ‘70s, I left some of my dignity there. Maybe I’ll buy a ticket to see the Austin Bills, and before the game starts I can roam around 6th Street and look for it. There’s always hope.
Tank and his friends should appear in wraparound segments as part of the Cleats show, similar to the puppet segments from Caillou and the live action segments from the Mario cartoons.
This is a little old, isn’t it? And after all anyone who knows anything about Austin knows that the local governments will pay a single centavo to get an NFL team here.
The rotten to the core & thieving McCaskey Family is trying to screw the Village of Arlington Heights into paying for a new stadium for the Bears, while they leave Soldier Field & Chicago with having to pay off the bonds that redid Soldier Field. The amount is in the hundreds of millions. After all the previous places around the country have been robbed by teams demanding & getting stadiums from the taxpayers & losing billions in the process, I just can’t figure out why they fall for it.
I think either San Antonio which has the capacity or Houston which needs a football team. (Just play along…) If you are a Browns fan, they should pool their money and buy the Bills so that Cleveland would have a football team.

Austin owes Portland OR a royalty for that…

Well, good. The alleged economic benefits of sports teams to their local communities are badly, badly, badly oversold.

If the Buffalo Bills DID leave for Austin, TX, would they keep the name “Bills”?

Of course, for the first couple of years, they probably would have to borrow DKR (Darrel K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium) for their games…

Hard when your team moves – the small upside is that they would be warmer at home games

Everybody is falling over themselves to get AMAZON to come to town. Why not a winning NFL team?

Austin’s crowded enough as it is without adding an NFL team to the mix. San Antonio (75 miles south) would be a better fit.

Texans aren’t tough enough to be Bills fans, although they’re probably just as crazy

There’s no way Jerry Jones would allow another team into Texas so it’d have to go to another state.
