Some force is sucking those globs of puesdo-reality toward that fountain-like point; I believe Flask was pulled into a new reality via the same apparition.
Duffy may have the right idea. Grab onto one (or more in Alan’s case) and float your way to the fountain instead of walking in the debris of destroyed souls.
Lost souls are attracted to the living, who might help them find their way, like Marx did for Flask. He couldn’t help them all after sending off Flask. He didn’t know them, and they would have overwhelmed him. But he could save that one.
Aren’t those souls of the recently deceased? Coming from the direction they just came from? Hmm. Methinks either the nukes just got the Topsider outpost, or those Amesworth guns are working overtime.
When we saw Marx “commit” Flask’s bundle of experience/thoughts to that fountain, she was allowed to remain a single personality in her next iteration; these bubbles going by our boys are all bits and pieces of the lives of ones now “dead”(?)….but, the boys are still themselves, not nearly dead. It will be so very interesting when/if they reach that fountain.

At first I thought it was that all-bean diet sneaking up on them… but it’s the most unfair game of dodge ball ever!

Looking at that line of souls, I think we need to hear some Conga music!

That doesn’t seem like a good idea, Duffy.

One should always look both ways before crossing. Traffic can come out of nowhere.

I just reread the first four Endtown books this weekend and remember seeing those bubbles pushing Marx away after he sent Flask off to her fate
