    I work in Supply Chain for our company. I’m the data analyst and I see the issues our buyers have to put up with. They are tasked with trying to get supplies quicker and cheaper and the world is moving in the opposite direction.

    I do see one positive indicator: we are sourcing more and more locally to suppliers who have to manufacture the parts. We’re weaning ourselves off parts from China. They are cheaper, but they take more time to get here and they are generally poorer quality.

    So do we want to save money on the part (if rework isn’t necessary) and pay the penalties for us delivering our product late, or do we do the job the right way to begin with.

    One thing I learned back in the 1980s is that it pays to pay for quality.

    The bad news is he’s not going to sell even one of those today.

    I like iced coffee, ice cream and other chilled treats in the winter as much as anyone, but I’m not going to consume them outdoors in freezing temperatures.
