The teachers I know doit for their love of children. The pay isn’t enough for the aggravation they have to put up with. Especially from some of the parents.

I see that Mallett left us a clue.

And anyway, the law that applies here is “You always find it in the last place you look.”

Are they messing with him or has no one checked the pocket?

On Sunday, they were on his head. Today, they are also close at hand. Where next? Are his glasses doing an experiment on him?

That is a place where I wouldn’t have thought of putting glasses. Too dangerous to smear them and to drop them accidentally when bowing down.

Pay stub? Haven’t seen one of those in decades.

In Ontario, qualified teachers earn much better than a living wage, but they sweat every penny.

I’m sure Caulfield noticed the glasses in Mr. Spaetzle’s pocket. But he’s doing research.

I’ve done that . Only mine are usually on my head.

Been there. Done that. It’s a Now what the H—- did I do with . . .?!? Not funny at the time but definitely a moment to question what’s happened to my memory.

and yet nobody is looking at him to see that its in his pocket!!

The sad part is all of us readers know where they are, but we can’t help.

I was in Walmart yesterday. I took off my glasses to put on an N95 mask. I shopped then checked out. I didn’t miss my glasses until I was in my car. I went back inside and found my glasses where I had left them. Next to the box of masks.

They’re in your shirt pocket.

Actually, if he’s like me those aren’t the pair he’s looking for. The bifocals live in my pocket; I have assorted dedicaed reading glasses of various diopters scattered around places I habitually need them. If I wear the bifocals at the computer, or reading, or doing any kind of delicate work, I get a crick in my neck from leaning back to use the close-in part. But I usually forget to take the readers off when I move away from whatever it was I had been doing, and end up looking for them next time I return there. But that would be a different kind of funny.

Look in your pocket

I have glasses that I need only for close-up work and that are so light, I often forget whether I have them on or not. I see better without them while driving, so I often forget to put them on until I get in the grocery store and try to read the labels on the merchandise. Sometimes I reach up to adjust them and realize they’re not on my face.

Wait- why is this kid in the principal’s office with the janitor helping to find the principal’s glasses, which are, of course, in the principle’s shirt pocket in plain sight?

I have a new pair of progressive lenses and they’re not always in focus depending on what i’m doing. Sometimes i think i need to put them on because things are so blurry but i then realize i AM wearing them.

Anyone else notice the glasses in his pocket appear to be missing an earpiece? (which is why they’re in his pocket and not on his face.)

The lad has a lot of company. Many politicians seem to think that all their state’s budgetary problems start with paying public school teachers.

HA HA HA! I found them. How can he not feel them through his shirt?

They aren’t looking very cleverly. I looked first on his head and there they are in his pocket.

That sort of research has been the basis for a couple fields ever since Lyell and Darwin.
