Let’s not just put the whole thing on Putin however, the entire kleptocracy/oligarchy that exists in Russia is going through with this illegal action because their system is at risk.

Putin does suck, but let’s not scape-goat him completely. He is a fascist, and his cronies are all complicit and don’t want to lose their own financial standing because their financial standing is tied to using the government for their own personal gain. The ruble is in shambles, the wealth disparity is extremely high, and Putin has been losing support for the last 4 years but particularly during the pandemic. Their government is extremely weak financially. This is the tipping point for Russian oligarchs and if they get driven back into Russia it could mean a total systemic collapse.

And this is the lesson that America must learn, this is why repugs are full in on fascism. They are losing their standing demographically and ideologically, the kleptocrats/oligarchs that own and control the GQP know their days are numbered. When Putin and cohorts are soundly pummeled and punished, we must follow through and severely punish our own pro-fascist, anti-American insurrectionist/traitors. The kleptocrats and their enabling propagandists must also be put on notice and hit where it really hurts, their pocketbooks.

Thanks to Stalin there are 100’s of 1,000’s of ethnic Ukrainians in Russia. Putin should have remembered that.

Apparently many Russian soldiers had no idea they were going to invade Ukraine. One platoon refused to fire on Ukrainians a surrendered.

So that’s an additional factor to be added into the military analysis of the Ukrainian invasion. Looks like there’s a possibility that many Russian troops may lay down their arms, surrender and ask for asylum. Odds are some of them have friends and relatives in Ukraine. One thing for sure they can’t go back to Russia and face Putin’s murderous wrath.

So, what began as a brilliant tactical maneuver on the first day is now looking more like a strategic disaster. Putin appears not to have a handle on the capabilities of his own troops, their willingness to fight, the stubbornness of the Ukrainian people and THEIR will to fight and the blessings of St. Javelin and Sister Stinger.

Too soon to tell how this is going to play out but it’s not looking very good for Vladimir. I wonder if his oligarch mob bosses are quietly sharpening their knives. Well he still has several cards to play. One thing is his potential use of thermobaric weapons. If he unleashes those on a civilian city he’ll put the final nail in his coffin on the world stage. I think we only used those things twice in Afghanistan on Talibans holed up in caves and far away from any civilians, villages and cities. They’re not nukes, but as close to them as a conventional weapons can get.
