A tall order

They’ve been married for 40 years and they are just now having this discussion.

One friend MUST shop at Big and Tall because he’s obese. But the name is actually wrong: It is really the Big or Tall store and he has no particular trouble finding stuff that’s big enough around without being (much) too tall.

I may not wear big shirts, but even I tend to get into the habit of taken them in, but that’s mostly to get access to my mobile phone in its holster on my belt.

She nagged him to take his shirt out, knowing she was going to switch to nagging about how long it is, since she washes them she knew.

Back in my day, you were berated for wearing your shirt untucked. Even at home. Especially at home.

Button down shirts aren’t usually worn untucked. T-shirts and polo shirts, yes.

I buy XXXL shirts for two reasons. First, I have Medium waist and XL shoulders. Second, I wear my shirt untucked so as to cover my waist carried firearm. My concealed carry permit requires a cover shirt that will not “print” the weapon. I know, why does a senior citizen need a gun? This day and age, just so I can continue to be a senior citizen instead of a death statistic. TYVM, I’ll stop ranting now.

So. . .when he tucks it in, is it all bunchy around his waist???? That’s pretty long to be comfortably tucked into his pants. . .

When you’ve got a shirt like that, pants are optional.

I like tall shirts, they don’t come untucked by themselves as often.

I have dresses shorter than that.

I buy 90% of my shirts at second-hand stores. If it looks OK tucked, it’s a deal.

Earl buys his own clothes?? A very unusual marriage if he does.

My husband is 6’4.5" and 300# and he wears 3XLXT which is three extra large AND extra tall.

So it’s not a lack of fashion sense at all, is it, Opal? Earl knows there’s too much tail on that shirt, so he tucks it in. Even Earl sometimes has a good reason for what he does.

Cut it off and hem it for him, Opal!

What is that stain around the bottom button? (I had to squint to see it, like George Costanza.)

Earl is big in our hearts.

The reason he tucks is he was taught that way by his parents and/or the US Army. Actually he’s doing a good thing.

Opal I have told my hubby the same thing, only difference my hubby is tall 6’4" that is if he can stand tall. And today is special for hubby and I, we celebrate 41 years of marriage, reason it is special he had health issues couple of years ago and doing better now.

Since I retired, I wear my shirts untucked as a sort of defiance.

Earl’s shirt looks like the XXXXXL tees some are wearing these days.
