Are those kids really robots? Cuz they all talk the same oblique way.

I can’t remember exactly when the gift shop wasn’t important. Because during my pre-kid years, I was too busy for museums. And now the (great) grandkids are interested.

Michigan has The Henry Ford, an incredible museum.

Kid’s a collector. Not a bad hobby compared to some.

Bridgeport has the Barnum Museum. Scranton has the Houdini Museum. Baltimore has the Johnny Eck Museum. There used to be a one-room museum in Greenwich Village called the “Freakatorium” where they had Sammy Davis Jr’s glass eye, a two-headed turtle, and a whale’s penis-bone.

Frazz is cartooning at it’s best. And I have been following the ‘funnies’ way back before I could read and my mama had to ‘read’ Henry to me! Thanks Jef

All museums have gift shops; they all need funds, after all. ;-)

My wife and I took a day off and went to the Lincoln museums in Springfield, IL. That night we mentioned it to our high school daughter. “You went to museums and didn’t take me?”

If there’s no gift shop, how do you leave the museum?

When I was a kid, the Denver Museum of Natural History was just the coolest place ever! The gift shop at the end was a wonder too. Always a treat for me as a kid and I got to watch the whole thing over again through my kids as they grew up.The Zoo is a another great place with a cool gift shops at the end. So fun!

One spring break — I’m out of school, but do morning duty for my grandkids — I decided to try and visit a small museum every day. Clock museum. Stained glass museum. Tool museum. Mustard museum. Museum of the American Indian. Naval Air Station museum. Yes, there’s the occasional dud (the Mustard museum wasn’t worth the trip, IMO) but a lot of these are definitely worth a couple of hours.

ARE there museums without gift shops?

The Ashmolean museum in Oxford is immense

My brother and I would spend all day there.

There’s no such thing as a museum without a gift shop in the US.
