After what was apparently a very long conversation with Lizz, Dot is finally “alone” with Matt and she can tell him what she really thinks about his drug dealing activities. She’s looking more angry today than she ever has since the start of the visit to the Ajax. We still don’t know what she told Lizz about the kidnapping.
I really like the layout of the last panel. The echoed contrast of the two police detectives in the foreground in the two figures in the background has a nice symmetry to it.
My God! She’s got his eye thing now. In both eyes! The kids will have to be sold to a freak show to help pay the rent, once the royalties on his one song dry up!
1-DOLL: We kicked your loser boyfriend loose. I suppose you’ll go crawling back to him now.
2-DOT:In her best Cowardly Lion voice PUT EM UP! PUT EM UP!
ASTRO: Oh. Hi Dot. Good thing this all happened on the weekend. We didn’t miss your show. I’m thinking about combing my hair down and lip syncing to an early Beatles song on tomorrow’s episode. I think I need to refresh my act…
3-DOLL: That boy sure can’t read a room.

Apr 15th: Vitamin warns Tracy that Matt may be walking into a trap
Apr 16th: It’s night. Matt and Dot arrive at the Ajax to be confronted by Coffyhead with a gun (did he drop that down the hole, too?)
Apr 17th: The same night, immediately following. Coffy demands drugs. Coffy and Luigi kidnap Dot and leave Matt locked in the Ajax. Tracy busts in.
Apr 18th: The same night. Tracy questions Matt but gets no firm answers. Tracy finds Don’s scarf.
Apr 19th: The same night, immediately after. Tracy tells Matt the story of the Original Tonsils. We are now in a different location. It is wherever Coffy took Dot to hold her until Matt brings the drugs.
Apr 21st: The same night. Matt has had time to go to his supplier, get the drugs, and get back to the Ajax. That was quick! (Where’d he get the cash so fast and immediately contact his supplier?) Coffyhead has also returned with Luigi and Dot. Sam, Tracy and Milligan are outside the Ajax Cafe using their wrist radios to watch shadowy figures making the drug deal. Apparently the wrist radios are not recording the deal as it happens like a police body cam would have done.
Apr 22nd: The same night. Inside the Ajax immediately following. We see that Dot is unharmed and Matt prepares to turn over the package of drugs to Coffyhead.
Apr 23rd: The same night. We have skipped forward in time slightly. The drug deal is now completed. Coffy has the package Matt gave him. No money was seen changing hands. Apparently the price of Dot’s freedom was the package of drugs, probably several thousand $ cost for Matt. Tracy, Sam and Milligan prepare to burst in.
Apr 24th: The same night, immediately following: The cops interrupt the drug deal. Coffy tries to implicate Matt. Tracy takes them all to the station.
Apr 25th: The same night, but a jump ahead in time. (it’s a long night) The (night shift) lab workers have had time to test the contents of the package. They tell Tracy that no drugs were found.
Now I’m curious as to what information Dot gave Liz. Did she mention she was abducted by Coffyhead at gunpoint to force her boyfriend to procure illegal drugs? Even if no drugs were found at the crime scene, wouldn’t the abduction be enough of a crime to hold Coffyhead on? I know some commentators have argued Dot isn’t going to press charges because of bad publicity or whatever. I don’t know. Dot View sure doesn’t come across as a woman willing to let any man get away with messing with her.
Tracy is pretty blasé about Dot and Matt, almost complacent. Oh, well; I guess the "pressing issue’ of the moment is, will Dot slap Matt’s face, or kiss it? Or both? Are they headed for “makeup [adult behavior]”?

Interesting that Vitamin – who earned a second chance at love – should in some small way inadvertently facilitate a second chance for Dot. ✨

You see, being scared or confused for a moment doesn’t change what one is feeling, it only pushes it to the background.
