I haven’t bought a pair of Nike’s or any other Nike product since this arc was first published … Not, I admit, because of Nike’s horrendous labor practices,( although that certainly was a factor ), but because I’ve always thought Nike was an over-priced, over-hyped product marketed to appeal to the gullible, the easily influenced, the status seekers, and to those who could least afford to purchase them.
I can’t believe no one has commented on the fact that it’s our old friend Phred running the place. I don’t remember this arc from way back when, but if I were to guess I’d say we have some sort of reunion coming up. Or perhaps I’ve remembered it out of order and this is when we first meet Phred? I don’t think so but could be…
One of the reasons Nike has to charge egregious prices is because of what they pay the athletes who are spokespersons for the brand. Gotta recoup those multi millions, don’t you know?
