I remember those days, make up a game or maybe an adventure; didn’t need any toy, just a stick or whatever you could find. Crawl around in the moist uncut grass with the tantalizing prospect of maybe a four leaf clover find, and all the good fortune that’s gonna bring….. sigh.

It’s all like his car, too small.

Because no matter what he does, Alice has to be persnicky.

Even Alice knows that if you’re going to romp, you’ve got to have plenty of romper room.

Remember- May is No Mow May. Give the little pollinators a chance.

Romping needs tall grass, wild flowers and lots of space. Think of “The Sound of Music”.

I am shuddering right now. Where we live, (rural) we are coming up on tick season and I keep the lawn short because those things creep me out to no end. But I know some people like to do a “No-Mow May” so that they can let the wildflowers bloom and help out our pollinating friends. I just plant the pollinator mix of flowers instead!

$20 bucks says the mower gets clogged up and bogs down after 3 feet.

The first mowing of the season is always the worst.

Watch out for stink bugs Alice! And Dill bugs, you never know what’s lurking.

With grass that tall and kids, I hope he checked for rocks, toys and other objects before he mows.

Heed a lesson, Alice! Requirement One for “romping in the field” is a field!

Tall grass in the small back yard or even smaller front yard is not a field. Besides, Dad needs to mow, or Madeline will not be happy….
