Making that poor woman feel guilty enough to give Zoe the jelly donut. Then she can go home and crow to Hammie that she got a jelly donut and he didn’t.
I was in the Navy and they had a family day on the ship. What a ZOO!! Some started climbing the ladder on the stack. Looking under the tarp with the Nuclear Logo on it was interesting too!! Another fun part was the wives with spiked heels trying to go up/down the stairs that had holes in them. The final fun was having to wait 2 hours to eat because the families got first dibs.
. Some work places are not appropriate to take your child to. I grew up around my fathers business. i got to help out in a slaughterhouse from age 7 until i was in my early 20’s and finishing university.
Zoe is going to one of THOSE, even as an adult, that will not recognize or honour boundaries, any where, ever, for any reason. Until HER world is invaded.
My boss was always OK with me taking my daughters to work if I had to (if daycare/school was closed). One time I had to. Before going into the office, I told the girls, “My boss just got a TV in the office. You are not to touch it. You are not to ask to watch it. You are not to LOOK at it! You’ve brought things to do; you’ll be fine.” The first words out of my boss’ mouth when we walked in was, “Hi, girls! Wanna watch TV?”
My oldest niece was exactly like that as a child. And still that way now in college. It’s is a behavior parents need to address somehow when their children are young. Maybe seek out the advice of a professional? It is not a trait that leads to having many friends when you become an adult.
My Mom was a stay at home Mom so I was at her job everyday but I didn’t go to Dad’s job until I was 19, that is when I started working for him at his commercial cleaning business. ;)
I remember enjoying take-your-kid-to-work days when I was Zoe’s age – my mom’s office would usually have a big breakfast buffet that they would bring in for us!

Tryin’ to figure out Mr. Carlson in that first panel?? Is that his mouth, or does he just have a weird head?
Cactus-Pete over 2 years ago
What’s wrong with that? Someone has to take the last donut. Of course it doesn’t make sense that the woman is eating the donut right there.

I’d love to bring my girls; but I work in a secure federal facility. Pity, they could help the language translations.

“So you want this doughnut after it’s been halfway in my mouth?” They wore masks in this strip, so you-know-what has happened in that world.

This day is not going to end well for Darryl, and unfortunately, Zoe will not be punished for the many transgressions she will commit.

For crying out loud, Zoe! SOMEBODY has to take the last jelly donut. (It wouldn’t be me, though. I prefer plain cake donuts)

But it’s okay if you take the last jelly donut, Zoe?
