Happy? Monday? Isn’t that a contradiction in terms?

Why does it even exist?

The fact that you’re standing probably gives it away.

Almost as subtle as the reactions my home made cheesed dip!!! Andrew loved my cheesed dip, but he doesn’t come around as much as he used to. Funny Garf!!!!!!!!!

Impressive. Garfield saved a lot of energy during his happy Monday dance.

It’s also very lazy – like Jim Davis’ Monday cartooning.

Why does Garfield hate Mondays when he doesn’t do anything more than on the weekend? And (I guess) he doesn’t have Jon underfoot either.

Stay until the end! The grand finale is a splut pie in the face.

And now I’ll go take my happy Monday nap right after I eat my happy Monday lasagna.

DO THE STANKY LEG

It was explained in the earlier strips, and in a couple episodes of “Garfield and Friends”, that the reason Garfield hates Monday is because terrible things always happen on Monday, such as getting hit with Spluts.

It’s breathtakingly subtle, Garf, but we aren’t holding our breath!

It’s so subtle that if you’re not watching Garfield at exactly 23.59 on Monday night it’ll seem like he’s standing still

It would be funny if Jon walks by Garfield and asks “What are you, a statue?” and then Jon tips Garfield over accidentally.

If he were a baseball pitcher on the mound, he would have obviously balked!!

Yeah – I think I did that exact same dance this morning after arriving at work…

Today’s strip left me wondering—again—how in the world Mr. Davis keeps coming up with new ideas that make me laugh. Kudos! Again!

Considering his past attitude about Monday, that is understandable.

Today’s Monday? Thanks for reminding me. (We retirees tend to lose track of the days of the week.)

Sure it is Garfield.

Garfield’s feet have gotten a lot larger!!! He won’t have to go on any diets anymore since he can see his feet now.

I couldn’t help but be reminded of another cartoonist who drew a character who danced to celebrate various events. I would dearly love to see what the great Jules Feiffer would draw if called upon to illustrate his vision of Garfield’s Happy Monday dance.
