Sometimes I don’t realize that I’m awake until I’m on the school bus.

With my back it’s not the deciding to get up that takes the longest.

I have chronic insomnia. At least I usually don’t have to get up and be anywhere at a given time. Well, every three months I go to my doc. If I’m sick, we do the visit on video, which my cats love.

Cats don’t have insomnia, lucky them.

With the assorted aches and pains, I don’t normally get to lie abed for long after awakening. I have to get up and start moving to loosen up.

That’s what I say about my morning workout. The toughest part of my exercise routine is swinging my feet over the side of the bed and standing up.

Followed closely by not going to bed at a reasonable hour in the first place. It’s one of those cause and effect things.

My problem is being drugged. My butt specifically. It gets drugged out of bed. Drugged to work, etc.

Once I am ready to get it, it can take a while to convince my dog we are going to both get up.

Two steps to getting up in the morning:

    1. Rolling out of bed – easy

    2. Getting up off the floor – not so easy…

I don’t rise & shine – I just sort of ooze out of bed & attempt to glow feebly. 8-D

i don’t have any problem rolling out of the futon at 4 on a summer morning. when it’s below zero outside, as it was this a.m., that’s a whole different challenge…
