Rover wants to be completely open and honest. This could work to Red’s advantage.

I’m sure they vanish and Red will have his Rover alone for himself.

Interesting how the most important things we learn in life are from elementary school/kindergarten. During the pandemic, who would have thought our biggest world-wide fear would be “cooties” ????

I see that someone asked yesterday whether it is only Red who can read Rover’s thoughts. That does seem to be the case. One of the Mintz Twins story arcs had Red leaving the pool and expecting Rover to come with him but Rover wanted to stay with the Twins. Soon, the girls were saying “You should come back into the pool out of the heat, Red. You seem to be arguing with yourself.” That was one of the times when Red and Rover came very close to Calvin and Hobbes.

…that should do it….cooties wasn’t enough but Rover had the right ideas….

Are they planning to drink out of the pool? (Rover might.) But I remember well the concept of “cooties” and will still use the term on occasion as needed.
