after the spider finishes the fly, Garfield will have to empty and wash his mug in the sink

Today is the start of my vacation week! Heading down to the beach in a few hours.

“There’s a fly in my coffee!”“Shhh! Everybody will want one!”

Wouldn’t that be more like “suck suck suck”?

And Gar’s going to drink that coffee after the fly’s been in it????

De-fly-inated coffee.

It looks like there is an other spider hidden behind Garfield’s head with only it’s legs showing.

That spider is going to be so agitated after that caffeinated fly — it’ll be off the wall!

Next Monday will be rough for this Anglophile. Her Majesty’s funeral.

One of my best Mondays! My party won several seats in our community council in Sundays election!

Always good to share coffee with a friend.

I hardly ever drink coffee, anymore. Instead I use a family size packet of decaf tea to give me a 2 1/2 cup mug of great strong tea. Add pink stuff and lemon and you have a brew.

Will be relaxing today, trying not to think about my arthroscopic surgery for the torn meniscus in my left knee tomorrow morning.

Been awake since 2 am. Couldn’t fall back to sleep. Starting to feel tired now, about 10 minutes before my alarm goes off and i need to get up to start my day.

Luckily for me I don’t drink cofee so this would never happen

It’s raining where I’m at

So far, so good…of course, it’s only 6 AM…

I checked. No fly in my coffee.

Oh my gosh, this one had me in stitches! I haven’t laughed that hard at a daily Garfield strip in I don’t know how long! I think the “nom-nom-nom” part was what sent me over the edge!

Better than yours

I’ll tell you this, Garfield, my Mondays are going better than my Tuesdays.

I know that this is just a running joke since the beginning of Garfield time, but, seriously, why does Garfield have problems with Mondays? He doesn’t work, he has no responsibilities. Being a cat, he probably sleeps all day anyway. Monday for Garfield is just a continuum of uneventful days.

No fly in my coffee. No fly in my tea, and not spiders hanging around me.

BTW, does anybody know when, why and/or how “num num num” (a baby-talk version of “yum yum yum”) became “nom nom nom”? Very curious about this.

Carpenters or the Mamas & the Papas are playing in my mind now. Bees are the only flying insect that I can remember that I’ve drunk “in” my coffee. Kinda weird carbolic addition to the black coffee taste.

Well, that would make anyone grumpy, even on a Monday.

Maybe this is part of the story “The old lady who swallowed the fly?” Garfield might be the old lady, but he better watch out for Odie.

No spiders so far…

Since everybody remembers that old ‘fly in the soup’ joke, the “Garbage Pail Kids” cartoon actually inverted the joke in one of their groaner segments, where it was a man in the soup while the patrons of the restaurant, along with the waiter, were giant flies.

I think Garfield’s trying to break the 4th wall with the 4th panel (look at his eyes! )

Pretty much the same as yours, Garfield. I mean, no spiders getting hopped up on coffee-soaked flies, but it was definitely a Monday.
