There were 236 Friends episodes, this amounts to 4.2 cups per episode – less than 1 cup per person! If there’s something unbelievable about this it’s that they drank so LITTLE coffee when much of the action in the show was set in a coffee shop.
1000 cups divided by 10 seasons is 100 per season, obviously. 100 divided by 6 actors is roughly 17 cups. 17 cups over a season doesn’t seem that much to me. How does that qualify for a “Believe it or not?”
Yes, the Ottomans punished a lot of things by death….not surrendering your male children to be forcibly converted and conscripted into the Janissaries (if you weren’t Muslim), teaching the Greek language, being Armenian, etc….
Not all that surprising about the coffee consumed by the Friend’s characters. (1) many scenes were set in the coffee shop: Central Perk. (2) doing the math, that only works out to 4 cups of coffee (collectively) per episode. Not unusual for 6 people.
This is a bit of humor from the current release “Top Gun: Maverick”.
Tom Cruise (Maverick) has just bailed out from a crashing test jet and walks into a diner, him and his flight suit looking quite the worse from wear. He looks around at everyone looking at him and says “Where am I?” A little kid looks up at him and says “Earth”…
I just found this. What the Believe it or Not factoid means is that the Friends drank over 1,000 cups of coffee DURING the show itself. A pretty dumb finding considering that they didn’t necessarily drink the full cup – plus, they are not considering several takes for the one that was actually aired – and that the stuff in the cup maybe wasn’t even coffee!
I sometimes wonder how much chemical energy is in sewage. Could we somehow burn it without making a worse problem? If we can’t find a way to cleanly burn it, at least we can get methane from it. Some sewage plants are burning methane produced by their digesters to provide electricity to run the sewage plant.
So, 1000 cups divided by 10 years is 100 cups per year divided by 6 people, works out to be about 13 cups per year or 1 cup per month. Real coffee hounds those Friends. Oh, and go ahead and comment on my math.
A man noticed an ad in the paper for a talking dog for sale $20.00.
He goes to the address listed and ask the man about the dog.Was told that the dog was in the bedroom. He walks in and the dog says, “Hey, how you doing?”
Shocked he ask, “What are you doing here in Lake Charles?”
Will you see, I was stationed at Fort Polk as a security dog. Did that for four years. Then went down to New Orleans and worked for the TSA for awhile.
Got burned out on that and moved here to relax and have some fun.
The man said, That’s impressive. Let me go talk to your owner for a minute.
He goes and ask the guy, “Why are you selling this dog for only $20.00.”

That would be over 4 cups per episode. Apparently I found the picture of the friends that the RBION artist used to create the above drawing.

The band Toto named themselves after that toilet company, not Dorothy’s dog.

Not sure of the point of the Friends “fact”. If A season represents a year, that works out to 1 cup per person every 6 days. :)

1000 cups?!?! That’s nothing. They’re 6, so 166/7 a pop. In 10 years, it’s less than 2 per month. How did they get up in the morning?? :D

Over the course of 10 seasons pretty much everyone that drinks coffee has had over 1000 cups…

“Ottoman” means Turkey—-and I’m having a hard time imagining Turkey without coffee/espresso.
Also can’t see myself drinking Turkish coffee because it’s so overly strong

that’s not very much coffee per person (17 cups a year) , so not hard to believe at all

1K cups / 10 seasons = only 100 cups / season. / 6 characters = only 16.6 cups / character / season. Is my math correct? let me know…

It seems like lots of the commenters here didn’t bother to read anyone else’s comments, considering how many say the same thing.

I drink that much coffee in about 4 months. Of course I would have had a problem with the Ottomans.
