Coming Soon š At the beginning of April, youāll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Itās good to see that Lizz and Lee are out heading up a raid and not just standing around the office looking decorative. Itās too bad that Steelfaceās new toy has worked so well in letting him hide the evidence.
How does Steel-eye know they hit Fredās place unless he has someone watching to confirm ?Ā He sure is happy with his skill at working the Wrist Wizard. Now I wonder if weāll get an explanation as to what he did to get that result.
OK, thanx to Samās amateurish behavior, Steelface has a 2-way wrist radio so he can listen in on police transmissions over those gadgets. Iām not sure, though, how that gives him enough time to clear out his chop shop operations before a raid, unless the police talk about pending raids over their wrist radios hours if not days ahead of time.
surprise surprise surpriseā¦ FINALLY, Liz and Lee have SOMETHING to do besides be background characters or not even MAKE an appearanceā¦ I think this is the first time that Dietās two-way is being used against Tracy and Coā¦. thanks to Samās sloppiness in taking care of a gadget entrusted to him, of courseā¦ he should be chastised and reprimanded for itā¦
Superb illustrations today by Shelley Pleger! And very good writing by Mike Curtisā¦ Tracy has found an enemy that likes to play cat and mouse. Steelface is brazen, but heās not as smart as he thinks he is. Tracy is going to catch on, track him down and arrest him. Sam will be laughing at Steelface thru prison bars, as he sips his coffee.
This is stupid storytellingā¦.1) Sam and the MCU had no reason why iron jaw was in townā¦hell, they dont even know if he IS 2) even the phone call, announced by the stagehand, didnt give any information as to where he was 3) Sam took it upon himself to assume it was the same Steelface simply by name aloneā¦tho granted itās a unique nickname 4) there had been no reports presented āon panelā of any sort of chop shop activity in tracyville 5) and simply because Samās car was stolen, NOW there is? 6) WHY bait the cops when they obviously have ZERO clue about your chop shop activity to begin with 7) are you REALLY that stupid to think the wrist wizard CANāT be tracked?
Well at least Lee, and, Liz got to show off their outfits. Shouldnāt have Sam realized by now that, for whatever reason Mike can come up with, he left his wrist genie in his stolen car
1-DISPATCH: One Eve Twelve! We got a report of overcharging for repairs made that we believe chicks can handle. LIZ: On it. Over. LIGHT āEM UP!
2-LIZ: We better go in with guns blazing!
3-FRED: WHAT? Iāve been overcharging only to the extent legally authorized by Police Chief Patton in appreciation of my contributions to his retirement fund!
4-LIZ: Bad intel, Tracy. Unless this guy hasnāt really been making his contributions?
5-TRACY: No. Heās current. Bring some crullers back to the Station. 10-12. No ā make it 14. Iām hungry.
Several things here. In December 2016, Tracyās Wrist Wizard suffered an explosive malfunction so on December 11, 2016 Diet Smith did a recall on all Wrist Wizards and gave a replacement which superficially resembles a 2-Way Wrist Radio, but with many of the equivalent functions of the newer design.
Why did Sam leave his 2-Way Wrist Radio in his car? As a seasoned cop he should know better.
I love the art today, and the hint of possible action. I am not familiar with proper police procedure, and I am wondering if a raid on a chop shop requires drawn weapons with fingers on the triggers. Yes, I know it is a comic.
I align with the school of thought that, yes, there is a chop shop operation going on, but, no, it isnāt at Fredās. Fredās Auto is just the innocent (well, as innocent as an auto repair shop ever is) rival to Steelfaceās ālegitā front operation to whom he misdirected the MCU-led raid.
Itās really too bad that for the first time in a long while that we see Lizz and Ebony in action, itās a failed mission. This isnāt likely to inspire future operationsā being led by them.
Maybe at least one good comes of this; namely, over-confidence on the part of smugly self-satisfied (last panel) Arceneauxā¦.

Absent all fun, dirty deeds done. Steelface shall have his way
An important date. Robert late. Rehearsals last all day.
Boosted car. Sam wonāt get far sans Wizard of the wrist
Raid goes all wrong. Deduce. Move on. Criminals were missed.
Bad info worse than none at all. Start fresh. Begin again
Get the drop on the chop shop. Progress. Donāt let wheels spin.
Steelface abides cold plate that hides the mess behind blue eyes
New cars to steal are cash on wheels. Each one a valued prize.

Steelface seems like a good bossā¦responsible and he takes care of his employees. Looks like a good place to work.

So, is Sam either too dense to notice his two-way is missing, or too afraid to tell anyone?

These are two-way wrist computers, right? Canāt you folks track each and every one?
Durak Premium Member over 2 years ago
Ok, look. I can believe Sam lost his two-way. Things happen.
But when the department KNOWS that their comms are compromised and keep using them, this is a major fail.
