Milking almonds is easy but roping and branding is tough work. You ever been kicked by an angry almond?

Watching all those Discovery and Nat Geo vet shows I’ve learned that the only animal milk that is truly compatible with humans is goat’s milk. A close second is camel’s milk. However, have you ever tried to milk a camel???

Just like you do with a cow’s udder. You squeeze it and milk comes out!

We spray deer repellant on our hostas, which supposedly contains wolf’s urine. I wonder how they collect that!

Common grocery almond milk contains only about “2% almonds” but it’s actually less because it’s filtered. That’s let’s them claim “made with almonds.” The rest is thickeners and whiteners and sugars and of course lots of water. Real almond milk is made with one cup of almonds to two cups of water. So, it’s just almond flavored milk-like drink.

Oat milk is somewhat better, since oats are cheaper and are easily extracted. They still add oils for thickening.

I know that the American Dairy Farmer will very adamantly remind everyone that there is no such thing as Almond “milk” or any other type of “nut” milk! It is nut JUICE!

Only a Thornapple, would consider almond juice to be milk. At least Wilberforce has a basic understanding of what constitutes MILK.

Yes! This has bothered me right from the very beginning of almond “milk.” It’s not milk! It’s juice!!! Anything that does not come from a mammal is juice! Or blood, but we won’t go there …
