A Random rumination while wondering why flammable and inflammable mean the same thing. From the drawing, with the end zone on the left, the yard marker we’re seeing has to be the 10 yard line. The teams are lined up with the line of scrimmage being on the 10, it can’t be 4th and goal. It’s 4th and 10. One poster commented it was 4th and goal from the 6. Not possible. Not the way they’re lined up. Then the camera angle changes from one side (P1) of the field to the other (P2) and in P3 the end zone lines went from diagonal to vertical (or horizontal) depending on the view making me wonder exactly where the goal line is.
Panel 2 voiceover by Marty implies that Toby received the snap from center. So he was either in a Wildcat formation, where it would make sense that he “run it himself”, or was mistakenly cast as the QB, which makes no sense as he’s never been portrayed as having played the position.
the writers of Gil Thorp sure left a “what-the-heck” moment after NT scored to tie it at 28-28. Milford kicks an onside kick? The only way this could happen is if the 28-28 score was at the half. So if Milford scored to make it 35-28, we got a lot of game left boys and girls. However, if this is the final score at the end of the game, we got some lousy refereeing.
Battle of the undefeated coming up next to finish the season. Hang on for a wild time next week. And speaking of next week, today’s Mopped Up Thorp will have to tide you over until next week seeing as there is no strip tomorrow.
