Come on Janis. He’s been raising your self image for decades, or at least trying to. How about a little tender loving reciprocation here!

I am in a different boat altogether, so to speak! When I look at the guy in the shaving mirror, he is younger than the guy I see when I look at the full-length mirror!!

“If I can dish it, I can take it.”

I swear that someone replaced my mirror with one from a carnival.

I just avoid mirrors. At least photos can be photoshopped before anyone sees them.

I know what you’re saying, Arlo, but my experience is different. Although I’m not the same as I was 50 years ago, I still enjoy it when folks guess my age as 10-15 years less than what it actually is.

It seems that many age as Arlo, with gradual changes taking place. But then one gets to an age when the changes start cascading. Sigh ….

The comment I hear often, You don’t look 80!

I think my top compliment was, “Not unattractive.” That was 30 years ago.

Male co-worker looking at my photo taken 45 years ago: “You used to be pretty!” Grrrrrrr.

To me, I look ok (for my age), in the mirror. When I see myself in photos, it’s “holy cow, who’s that geezer?”

People are so funny, so obsessed with the way they look. I am almost 72 and I really don’t care what people think. It is my face, my body, if you don’t like it, don’t look. It is sort of like atheists’ that keep talking about God.

I always age identified with Arlo & Janis. This age cynicism is right on the spot.

I was told awhile back that I was over the hill.

What hill? I don’t remember going over any hill!!

And in 5 years you will wish you still felt and looked as good as you do now

When I look in the mirror in the morning, I’m not happy that I let myself get out of shape, but I don’t think I look nearly as old as my dad, or my grandfathers when they were my age… In fact I think they looked much older that they were.

When I look in the mirror in the morning, I’m looking at my face in the mirror in the morning – not looking up at the roots of the grass. It’s a much better option.

I just took a selfie about 40 years ago, pasted it on the bathroom mirror. Now, I look years younger!

Don’t recognize the changes when you are married to them, even when you look at them in pictures at younger ages. A miracle of marriage….

When someone gives you a complement that you look good, that’s great. When they say you look great for someone your age, not so much.

I have never complained about aging. I tended to look much younger than I was and was so glad to finally no longer be asked for proof of age at the movies when I was in my late 30s to early 40s. And – think of the alternative!
