Turkey isn’t thinking of what’s coming for its friends in the sty. Black-eyed peas have flown off the shelf in recent days and whole hams and sweet potatoes. Evidently some traditions, for whatever reason they exist, are not easily forgotten.

Thanksgiving is turkey day, but Christmas is favorite meat day. Some people eat turkey and some don’t.

We prefer to have non-traditional meals at Thanksgiving and Christmas. For Christmas I barbecued a small pork loin.

I’m grateful we can get turkey year round. Back in the day it was only available Thanksgiving and Christmas. The industry took a while to develop
