… and, we’re back in Florida again. I’m still keeping an eye on both women. The pinstripe woman is the only one of the two that has dialogue today as she accepts her bag from what seems to be a fellow passenger (because he’s wearing a backpack). As the pinstripe woman engages a taxi driver, the woman who was running at the boarding gate hurries across the street, so it would seems that they are going different directions.
Pinstripe woman seems to have thick glasses, but I’m not sure if that’s significant. I wouldn’t read too much into the grey hair, which is a choice of the non-Team-Tracy colorizer.
today’s installment is confusing to me… is the flight landing and 99 is getting ready to leave in the second panel and the third panel is 99 has landed and is going through the airport to get her baggage?… and I notice that the flight is to Florida, much like Paul’s flight was… or are there TWO 99’s?…
I’m rooting for “99” to make a clean get-away. She’s certainly the coolest character we’ve seen in the story for a while, & she has a certain air of intrigue that has been missing with the villains for a while. It’d be fun to see a story where she’s the main villain, matching wits with Tracy.
Miami might be nice but surely Miss Lady 99 would want to go to a country that does not have an extradition treaty. If not she will forever be looking over her shoulder.
So I’ve been away a bit, but now see Art has told Tracy about 99……WHY ON EARTH WOULD HE WANT TO MAKE TRACY AWARE OF THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD NOW, WHO CAN CONNECT HIM TO PAULS MURDER???
We should have guessed that 99 was headed to Miami, land of the illegal aliens and sweatshops making counterfeit Gucci purses. She will go back to work as Agent 69 at a local strip club, out of Dick Tracy’s jurisdiction in the Banana Republic of Miami, which left the United States years ago, LOL !!!
Why has no one mentioned “pinstripe lady’s” pink bag? It’s noticeable in panel 2, and very prominent in panel 3, since the ‘possible’ 99 and the bag are the only brightly colored things in panel 3?
Well, that’s a thing about writing to a schedule. You have things you’d like to develop and play out in detail for clarity, but you sometimes have to trim things to carry the sequence through. In my case, a car crash and change to stolen car in the last Yeti story. This would have complicated Tracy following Ape and Ferret, but would have, given a call from the outraged owner of the stolen car and use of the drone, filled out the story a bit better. I would have preferred to use the sequence, but it would have eaten up another day and I needed to get to the ending of the story.
Sometimes you have to make decisions.
It’s a bit like traditional cel animation. When you watch, say, an old ep. of JONNY QUEST, you see good strong cels at the beginning and ending of a given action (key cels). Artists called in-betweeners draw the cels that carry the motion from Point to Point B.
Parenthetically, I used to own a cel of ‘Race’ Bannon in mid-throw of a grenade. The quality as visibly less crisp that the overall throw on TV seemed.
1-PILATE: Before we land I’d like to read you a bit of Scripture featuring me! PILOT: GIMME THAT MIC YA IDIOT!
2-DUDE: LET GO OF MY BAG YA OLD BAG! OLD BAG: Watch your mouth sonny or I’ll rip off your trouser bag and feed it to my cats. 99Dag. Flying gets more hostile every day!
3-OLD BAG: So I try to hustle this punk’s bag because I was certain it contained a lot of meds that would help with my arthritis but he catches me and… CABBIE: Do you need a taxi or not? I’m trying to make a livin’ here.
WHOA! Considering letting Terri take me to the hospital. Huge blood pressure surge. This car shopping is turning into a major nightmare and we’re both upset.
On her way to Miami and arriving there, 99 (whether the foregrounded, fully-colored woman or, IMO less likely though perhaps with some part to play, the striped-blazer-wearing, older appearing woman with the floral-print handbag) apparently intends to clean up any loose ends that may remain from the Chandler murder (would Detective Wunbrow be construed as a “loose end”?); or maybe more simply Miami is her home base.
In any case, we are now on the Agent 99 trail, though how Tracy and the MCU will get after her without any significant clues (mostly, just Art Dekko’s allegations and a slim folder from the feds courtesy of Fritz Ann Dietrich) remains an open issue….

Good morning™, frumpy miscast suspects !
I still maintain that “stripes” lady is a convenient decoy while “our” girl strides stridently away. If she meets Wunbrow will the jig be up ?

Wouldn’t be surprised if Crockett and Tubbs met her at the airport.

For some reason I think she’s been tagged and gets arrested before the end.

A little bit confusing to me, hopefully it will be clearer tomorrow! I believe it has something to do with Paul’s death, did he leave something there?
