Follow Fabulous FoXo’s Brilliant BOZO for a Fantastic Fabulous Friday!
For those who come in late, these fabulous fun funnies was envisioned and executed so beautifully and brilliantly by FoXo Reardon, a true master cartoonist who told his funny tales with his awesome artwork alone, without any of his characters in BOZO ever saying a single word.
An especially excellent epitome of pictures speaking thousand words, BOZO also the most pleasant picturesque pantomime where every panel is like a photograph of a three-dimensional cartoon world of realistic-looking depths and details. Such was his powerful perspective artwork which brought to life a lovely lively world of BOZO!
FoXo a rare combination of both sharp wits and artistic talents which is rarely seen together in the same cartoonist, a true master and professional cartoonist whose work quality speaks for itself and as you can see for yourself BOZO is pure gold coming from a golden era of cartooning! More about FoXo and BOZO in the About page.
So no wonder that these wonderful wordless wonders still bring great joy and sheer cheer to many even today.
But despite being a great classic of great creative calibre, neither BOZO nor FoXo are much known or remembered these days.
Spread the word, friends, so that BOZO can spread more joy and cheer to many many more!

The words below are a brief excerpt from the CoComics editors’ interview with me in July 2021. The entire interview can be read on the GoComics Blog below. Just click on page 4…… {Michael Reardon, Producer of Bozo on GoComics and son of the later cartoonist.]
In 1945, at the end of World War II, my father became internationally syndicated with the Chicago Sun-Times Syndicate with his comic strip Bozo, which was always his first love. The strip had appeared weekly in the Times-Dispatch from at least 1925. Syndication was a big change for him and our family. He set up his drawing desk between the living room and dining room at home, and his presence was always there. When I came home from school, he was always there. Always there in the evening. I would stand there looking over his shoulder. He preferred working overnight hours, and he usually slept until early afternoon. Having been born into all this, I never realized the special person that he was until he passed away when I was 18. He never boasted of his position, never boasted of being one of the country’s top pen artists, never boasted that Bozo was the syndicate’s most popular comic, as a survey of readers showed. In fact, he downplayed his importance in comparison to other cartoonists. A definite lesson in humility.

2. Food is costing a fortune.
3. Bozo couldn’t make up his mind about resting on the grass, so he decided to sleep on it.

≈¹≈ They’re conducting a safe chase. It’s the law, you know!
≈²≈ Groceries were expensive in Bozo’s time too.
≈³≈ Did Bozo forget the NO SWIMMING sign on the lawn?

1. Our Bozo in a pickle. The traffic not so light. Cop does make the passage safe. Bozo resumes his flight.
2. Security shall guide him home. The goods now not at risk. Price of food keeps going up Inflation again brisk.
3. Bozo loves to have his nap. The rules say “not here.” Floats the signage in the drink and thus the coast is clear.
