Being forced to listen to Taylor Swift would be on my list of cruel and unusual punishments. Right before the commercials by the Bob’s Furniture guy.
A TV station here has taken to calling their weather report “First Alert Weather”. They use that catchphrase about a thousand times in the half hour. Grrrr…
Ryan (not Bryan) Adams reimagined her album 1989 from start to finish as a rock album. It’s actually excellent. She can write songs, she just can’t sing them well imo.
I know who Taylor Swift is, but come to think of it, don’t know if I’ve ever actually heard her sing. She does seem to have a lot of fans, though. I’ll have to look up a YouTube video of her later and see what I think.
I like some of her music. And she actually seems to be a nice person. She’s gone out her way to respond to and even see her fans. Not sure why all the hate against her.
I’m not a Swifty, but I will give her some credit. I sometimes listen to the Top 40 pop music station and most of the songs are pretty awful, gimmicky ear candy that makes for OK background noise while driving or working at home. One time I heard a song that actually had a melody to it and when I listened to the lyrics, they were quite clever. I used my phone to identify the song, and it was Taylor. I also give her credit for being a songwriter as most of her songs are co-written between her and only one collaborator (usually the album’s producer). Take a look at the credits on, for instance, any Beyonce song and you’ll find it’s literally written by a committee of 8 to 12 people.

I’m sure having this dog sing for him would be worse. https://www.gocomics.com/poochcafe/2023/02/23?ct=v&cti=164337

Actually, the Spectrum guy is my current “Hate him gotta change the channel”! It used to be Billy Mays with Oxi-Clean!

Apologies to Roberta Flack, but Taylor Swift is the one who’s killiing people softly with her songs.

I’m guessing he was one of her ex boyfriends and now she has written a song about him…

A return to the pre-Sunday, July 25 1965 Newport Folk Festival style of execution.

From what I’ve heard of her concert-ticket prices, you might literally have to kill to get in to see her.

Unfortunately, it’s not unusual at all. Omnipresent, she is. Ubiquitous. And everywhere, too.

But, her 3rd act is conjugal.

If that isn’t enough punishment, they have Mike Lindell waiting in the other room.
