Just pick the two you don’t want to attack you and which would have the best chance of successfully defending you; which, upon consideration, would be the hunter w/rifle and the 10,000 rats. With the rats distracting the attacking animals and the hunter picking them off (assuming he is any good and has plenty of ammunition) at the end of the hour it should just be you, him, and all those rats. The rats would then proceed to chow down on all those dead critters while the two survivors beat a hasty retreat.
The challenge with the 10,000 rats is they’re not going to save you from a 4 charging lions, but you definitely don’t want 10,000 rats coming at you, either.
1. Rats. Your defenders won’t stop most of the 10,000 rats from getting to you. They may not win it for you but you’ll lose against them.
2. Hunter because they can kill at range. Any other defender won’t help unless the arena is small and they can get to the hunter at the start. If it is a small arena where the hunter can be taken down quickly, Crocodiles.
How many hit points do I have and do any of the other creatures have AOE attacks. If they do, that would take out the rats. If not, then I do want the rats as that would be a good DOT. Then the hunter with a good ranged attack. What are my attacks? If I have anything more than bare fists, then perhaps trading the hunter for the buffalo as tanks might do well.
It only says the hunter has a rifle. It doesn’t say he has any ammunition. So I’m not too worried about him. But I also wouldn’t count on him as much of a defender. 10,000 is a lot of rats. I don’t want them attacking me. They might not be much good against any of the other animals because of their thick skin, but they could easily take out the hunter. And the lions could take down any of the other animals. So I’d choose the lions and the rats to be on my side.

Is this one of those Google job application questions?

Hey, as long as I’m not in the arena, I should be OK.

The question is, how many bullets does the hunter have?

I’ll pick the Buffalo and gorillas, because this is a comic. Use your imagination.

I only need to choose the Hunter. I’ll have him/her blow my brains out with the rifle and put me out of my inevitable misery.
