Dweebie and Her Unicorn?

Oh if only someone was seeing this and recorded it.

Maybe it’s because Phoebe only has two arms.

Some frenemy to Phoebe you are, Dakota.

Dakota did ride Marigold on her birthday, but nobody noticed because of the Shield of Borningness.

Take it from someone with experience Dakota. The key to being a dweeb isn’t not caring if you’re acting weird. It’s not realizing it.

Obvious mistake: Phoebe knows she’s a dweeb, but is perfectly okay with it.

With the quality of these candidates, Phoebe may not have a job anymore!

Dakota is proving that she thinks she is less dweebish than Phoebe, and in doing so proves she is more so!

Aaaaand…there we go. Same ol’ Dakota once again. It seems her (latest at that) epiphany that had blossomed forth from reading Engleblart’s novel has already evaporated and vanished.

Blue jeans, white T-shirt, black leather jacket… Dakota looks like a 1950s greaser..

Now for MY impression of Dakota. Ahem! “I’m a stupid little—” This strip is for kids? Oh… Never mind.

Because it’s deliberate?

Wait, she’s never ridden Lord Splendid Humility? I would’ve thought he’d be into it as proof of his much-vaunted humility.

No one seems to have mentioned that Phoebe acted very similarly to how Dakota is acting now when she tried to prove she could act like Marigold. She waved her arms around saying, “Look at me! I’m a big fancy butt! I’m a big fancy butt!” Marigold replied, “Not bad but you’ll have to do it without the contractions and the vulgarity and the arms.”

Phoebe doesn’t wave her arms nearly that much.

If we examine the “Nerd Venn Diagram”, we see three circles which interlock with each other: Intelligence, Obsession, and Social Ineptitude: “Geek” is where Intelligence and Obsession intersect… “Dork” is Obsession and Social Ineptitude… Then we have “Spaz”, which is a particularly annoying subset of “Dork”…. “Dweeb” is Intelligence and Social Ineptitude… “Nerd” is the center, all three. Phoebe is definitely intelligent. She is also obsessed (with unicorns). But she does not seem to be really that socially inept… so this would put her into the “Geek” category. As for Dakota…. she’s more of a little snit.

Dakota and Phoebe are more on the enemy side of frenemy (while being frenemies, for sure). Betty and Veronica are more on the friend side (while ditto). Discuss amongst yourselves.

I think Phoebe would say that smiling, or at least not with an angry expression.
