P2- Mimi’s “Muscle Man” is anything but. The talk is always about Rod drawing big hands. I always get a chuckle at Gil’s tiny feet. Sheesh, the kids have larger feet. Muscle Man indeed.
I got quite concerned about Gil hanging out in an arcade handing out change to random kids. Then I noticed Jami sort of in the background. I thought maybe we were going to have a very special episode.
I mean, it could be worse. He could be having them play Pong. And speaking of worse, what could be worse than reading Mopped Up Thorp? Just about anything, I hope.
I’m an enthusiastic afficionado of Robert Altman, especially as in ‘’Nashville," where at least half of the dialog doesn’t seem to have anything to do with anything. He encouraged his two dozen featured actors in that movie to ad lib at will. and, boy did they. I didn’t think of anything they said as random, or having nothing to do with an imagined “story” but as character bits or ambience builders or little slice of life moments. Maybe that’s why I find fascinating the very things here that inspire a virtual litany of complaint.

I had to look. Apparently, video arcades still exist, but the ones I saw were mostly also bars. And they used cash cards, not quarters.
You can also play Pac-Man at home with an emulator. Which I have.

Um, I think it’s a bit of a leap, comparing Henry to Altman. Very flattering, but a bit of a leap.
