Thank you, everybody, for your kind words of condolence over the sudden loss of my Uno. I’m still just stunned at how fast it came.
A little background on Uno. I actually got her before she was born. Some uncaring person dumped a black and white unspayed female on me in the most bitter cold part of winter. I found her in my garage. Luckily, she allowed me to catch her and bring her in the house. I named her Dolly. Dolly thanked me for saving her by giving me 5 kittens. Uno was the first of the kittens to be born. That’s how she got her name – Uno being the Spanish word for the number one. I don’t know what order the rest of the kittens were born. Dolly died 3 years ago, on January 12th, from cancer. Now, all I have left from Dolly’s litter is April. But whoever dumped Dolly on me cheated themselves out of a whole lot of loving from Dolly and her kids (April is not so affectionate and does not like to be touched, but the rest of the bunch, including Dolly, were very loving). It’s always painful losing a cat like this. I still have 14 cats, but I will feel Uno’s loss for some time yet. Thanks again for all your words of condolence and for the pictures. It all really does help.
Update: It took some time (and quite a few treats) but Cocoa and Truffle are really getting along now. They’ll both sleep on my sister’s bed at night, and have recently discovered the fun of playing trap door with a cardboard box taking turns jumping out at each other and batting. Truffle will run into the box and hid if she sees Cocoa coming like she’s a kitten herself again.
A trip with Oliver could be quite nice. After all the grief Chesney’s given her with that will nonsense, it’s nice to see Oliver hanging out and relaxing with Annie. On another note, saw four robins, two sparrows, and two squirrels while out walking today.
I went down to my daughter’s house today to get her dogs to cheer up my dog, who has been feeling badly. Her cats were in the back yard, but had left a gift on the door mat… a dead mouse. Sarah says they’ve been catching multiple mice every day lately. And speaking of wildlife, I pulled an attached tick off my ear today. I’ll have to not stand under trees so often.

That’s not a bad idea, Oliver. Traveling would be lots of fun.

There are little carriers you can wear that would be perfect for Annie to take Oliver travelling.
