I keep hoping Varvel will post something that’s interestingly debatable. Alas, he’s always so far past the line that the most you can say is… something like this.

What is “woke religion”?

Would you BELIEVE that mainstream Christianity pushes woke nonsense like “Love your neighbor as yourself”?

Tell me you’ve never examined public school curriculum without saying you’ve never examined public school curriculum.

When the outcome for many in urban public schools is illiteracy, it does make you wonder what they are teaching.

When you have Republicans lying about the existence of CRT teaching in schools in order to get elected, then going on Fox and bragging about it, you recognize the real problem: Republicans lying and then bragging about it = no shame. In the military and other high risk professions they learn situational awareness: always being alert to your environment in order to anticipate threats or problems. Using its original definition there is one word to replace the term situational awareness: woke.

Look, Gary, noone is teaching CRT except in law schools and I hope everyone is aware of what’s going one in the world. I’m proud to be a WOKE person and hope I remain aware of my surroundings.

I would guess that it would involve following the tenets of love and forgiveness taught in the New Testament as opposed to that “eye for an eye” stuff in the Old. This is absurd! Texas is the default editor for text books due to it’s ordering volume and it’s the christian right that determines what is acceptable. Another non issue drummed up by far right to deflect.

Schools should stick to teaching science, historical facts, communication skills and logic. Neither of these things are taught in public schools, one is a college level analysis of how racism is built into laws and society and the other is a figment of your imagination. If you like Private Religious Schools, Gary, maybe you should emigrate to Afghanistan.
