If that sunglass rack was next to a motion sensor door, then the door would open and close every time Calvin tried on a pair of sunglasses. That happened to me once.

Taking style tips from somebody that goes around naked? He may be a cool cat, but still …

I buy the clip-on flip up kind. The number of style options is quite limited, which suits me just fine. I do care about the lens color, but even that is too often trumped by “that’s the last pair here”… though I won’t buy anything that’s not somewhere in black-grey-brown-green-golden and dark enough to be useful.

Those glasses look like the eyes of a space-alien cat!!

I bought a pair of prescription sunglasses. I asked for “a really dark lens” because often what you get is a sort of brown or grey that’s not very effective in our region’s glaring summer sun. Boy did the sales person listen to me! Coming in from outdoors I can hardly see.

Now we know where Spaceman Spiff gets his cool shades.

That woman has as much taste as a vacuum cleaner, which is none cause junk goes in it, it also explains her taste in food. Another reason Calvin will leave his parents in the worst rest home he can find or be happy when they are pushing up daisies.

Those glasses look like they came from Spectickles (on a competing comics site).

I’ll bet she thinks those glasses are to cool for him. I mean they are cool. I’d get some if they came in reflective silver with metal frames.

But aren’t cats color blind?

At least not the kind of taste that meshes with tigers.

She’ll buy him a pair of “son-glasses” if he needs them.

Those sunglasses should be red. That way, Calvin can view the world with rose-colored glasses.

Best cartoonists as far as art being published now? Bill Watterston, Will Henry, Frank Cho, Richard Thompson… ?(I know Thompson is dead, but couldn’t leave out). All Time would include Walt Kelly?

Definitely one of the more colorful Sunday strips! I especially like when they widen their eyes; someone I once spoke with commented that they look kind of anime-esque when their eyes are like that.

This is one where the cartoonist must’ve had to give very explicit instructions to the colorist.

It was only after he put them back that Calvin noticed they came from the ladies section…

Hobbes is right. Grown ups do not have taste. Childhood has much more color and vigour. And we have a lesson here. Be a child, whatever the age!

There are times when Calvin’s parents are perfectly justified in their ire, but there are also times when they could stand to unclench a little, and this is one of the latter.

My favorites were yellow, bug-eyes circa 1960. When you took them off, everything blue turned green.
